A first edition of Bono's 'Real World Electrology: The Blend Method' (note, no 'New Edition' printed on the upper right corner, and gold logo triangle instead of blue) a good buy, and a rare buy. Lots of info in this book!

Hey All,

I've decided to sell my Uniprobe Autoblend epilator. It's on eBay right now, at

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:11&item=190024082291

(I hope that link works; if not, just do a search for Uniprobe Autoblend on eBay.)

It's a good machine, works, reliable. Does both blend and thermolysis. The orignal price was $900 and I have all the original packaging. And I think it's still under warranty.

I've decided to sell it for two reasons. First, I'm moving. Second, I've gotten to the point where it's probably more cost-efficient just to see a professional electrologist.

Anyway, just passing along the info in case anyone on this forum is interested...it's a solid machine for a do-it-yourselfer or as an entry-level for an electrologist student. And it's not one of those quack machines you see on eBay.

take care--
Paly

Apilus SM-500

A great opportunity for someone to get a $4,000 machine for about $1500.00

...And to add to your post James on the Apilus SM-500, or for any high-end automated machine in this price range, It's well worth it to those who know what it's all about. Buyers shouldn't be afraid of high priced machines. These machines are actually the best buys. If someone is co-DIY'ing, or self-DIY'ing, then this machine will:

1) Pay for itself in a mere 21 sessions, which is a blink of an eye.
2) Will deliver safer, faster, better, faster results with less pain, faster.
3) Will motivate you to keep up on your co-DIY, or self-DIY schedule. And, motivation is a huge, huge deal in doing this in ones or twos.
4) Will make it easier for beginners to adapt to different hair types.
5) Will resell at near what you paid for it!

People buy these Instatrons and Vectors to start out, or even the older Fischers or Hinkels, they just end up throwing it in a box in the garage. The inexperienced just don't realize how easy and safe a programmable, modern machine makes it for beginners. A good machine will motivate you to practice day in, day out.

ps I need to post about my DIY adventures thus far soon.

The answer to your question is contained in the barb delivered by Roy Rogers - It is difficult for a man to understand something, when his salary depends on him not comprehending it.

Ebay makes money off listing fees. They don't lose money off users getting scammed. Scammers spend lots of money with Ebay, as they place many ads frequently.

This is no different from the scammers who are selling fake tempur-pedic and select comfort beds which are obviously don't fool anyone upon arrival. When the customer complains about the rip off bed they receive, the company says that to receive a refund, one must pay the return shipping in addition to the original shipping, and maybe even have to pay a "restocking fee". Ebay is ignoring that problem as well... unless you pay with Pay-Pal, you are out of luck, with them.

Instantron Elite

A good inexpensive anologue machine for those looking for something in the $400 - $700 range. Instantron is a family owned business and will stand behind this product and service is still available.

A valuable a find. These loupes up for grabs. Anything below $250 is a deal for these. I would buy if I didn't already have a good pair. Although the pair I own costs more, but is still not quite as good quality as these. Anyone serious should consider these. They're closing quick.

Perioptics 3.5 mag Loupes
