Hello everyone,
I am new here and very excited about trying diy elctrolysis. Currently I am deciding between getting a used sterex sx-b or the older version of the apilus junior (I believe that it is an older version, the seller says it is a bout 4 years old. It does not have the drawings of a woman and body parts on it as the newer model does).
I know that the apilus is often referred to be the better device. Is there really a difference between the sterex sx-b and the older version of the apilus junior? Or is it just the platinum that is supposedly currently one of THE epilators on the markt?
I am really unsure what to get (the apilus is being offered for about USD 750 , the sterex sx-B for USD 470). Both are about 4 years old.
Thanks in advance!
Espera

The Sterex is a manually controlled nlend machine.
The Apilus Junior is a bit weaker in traditional blend (the technique Michael Bono describes as body technique is not possible). It offers several additional modes, especially pulsed blend and flash thermolysis. Modes suited even more to people who know what they are doing as progressive blend.

So, if You intend to concentrate solely on traditional blend, the sterex is the better choice.
If You intend to extend Your knowledge, invest into profesional training, the the Apilus might be the beter choice.

Both a rock solid devices for heavy duty professional use.

AND BE AWARE - ELECTROLYSIS WITHOUT PROFESSIONAL TRAINING IS RISKY.

thank you Beate. to be honest, I have not received any training yet, wanted to get a device that I can take to the training class. I therefore (at this time) I really do not know if I will be concentrating on traditional blend or not (not really sure what the advantages or disadvantages of the tradional blend compared to other methods are)

In terms of machines, would you say that the apilus junior is the "better" model? Or maybe I should get both and then decide which I like better?:) I am really so unsure what to do!!
thanks in advance.

Please read thoroughly through the forum. There are lots of information on methods. Nothing to be explained in a few words.

I tought it would become clear: initially, both devices are equivalent.
Unless You really invest into professional training (and not only a beginner's lecture...) that Apilus is Overkill.(BTW: my backup machine is an old Junior, and i have been trained on the Sterex)

Thanks Beate. may I ask where you received professional Apilus training? Just asking because if I purchase the used Apilus model, then as you say, the beginner's lecture would not be sufficient.
thank you

The training should not be directed specifically toward dedicated machines, but simply give a sound theoretical, methodological and practical fundament to proceed from. That's IMHO already beyond the beginner's lecture.
