Just thought since we can post larger blurbs I might be able to put an update up so people dont wonder what the heck is going on.

The hairtell server has had some technical challenges for some time, and I'm working with Andrea and Cappernica to resolve them as is Dee.

Last night , a newer version of UBBthreads was installed and the database containing the content was restored to the new and upgraded server. Testing then began. I want to thank Andrea and her Techie for making the effort and putting it right.

The testing process however, has revealed some issues. We still cannot post links to other sites, so cant post picture links or content elsewhere on the web. And , just now, I have inadvertently I think brought down the entire server.

I'm not sure it was me, others may have been testing or correcting simultaniously so

it's possible Andrea's Technician ( admin_assist user) brought down the server to implement a fix or patch.

So there has been some serious progress made on the issues that have been plagueing hairtell, but, we still have some work to do. The server is now on a shiney new 7.5.9 version. I did express some concern prior to the upgrade, that upgrading to a new UBBthreads version we may encounter some similar or unexpected issues.

That's completely what it appears has in fact happened. Please be patient while we continue to test and correct. Andrea's techie deservs all the credit thus far she has worked hard on this.

We may or may not have seen the final version of the new hairtell to come. There may be steps that need to be taken that have not been thought of as of yet. In the meantime it appears ewe can now post longer blurbs, just links to external content doesnt seem to be working.
I would ask, just in case, that nobody hit the link “reply” in a post to bring up the posting options, just use the quick-reply box below. I'm unsure if that caused the server to come down this morning.

t's being worked on and tested and the right people are making sure the server is bulletproof. It just might be a few days while kinks are worked out. Ithe server may be down at times, that is expected while testing is conducted. It's a process of purposely trying to break things, just to make sure that we cant. Make use of the server as it's available, and in the meantime if hairtell is down and you have something to input, you can do so on my forums . Sorry , I cant currently post the link! But it is in the will I ever be finished thread.

So inserting files seems to work . Links to other than another hairtell thread, will not post. LKinks to other hairtell threads will post. The post length seems to be coming and going and varying like it did before. One minnute I can post long messages the next I cant. The forus part of the hairtell domain has been down twice this morning, not sure if you all took it down to implement fixes. Seems like we still have issues need addressing.
