The feedback I have heard over the years is home devices are not very powerful and may only stun the hair for awhile. It will probably not be very effective. go to a professional who has invested in professional, powerful, light-based devices.

If you are not a good candidate for light-based therapy for hair reduction, then no device will affect your hair no matter how many treatments you get.

Well I don't have to worry about not being the right candidate, everywhere I've been said I'm pretty much the ideal one lol.

I'm more worried if IPL is worth getting done professionally or not. There's not many people on here providing feedback on the results if any.

Hello,
have used Philips Lumea for home treatments and don't know the name from the professional one.

I got faster results with the professional treatments but very certain that this could have been archived with the home devices too.

I went to another clinic that has the LightSheer Duet. They seem pretty greedy, they wouldn't even do a sample area for me. It seems like most places that use the laser technology and not IPL won't give any sample treatments.

I'm going to another place soon to get a consultation, but once again they won't even give a sample treatment.

Is this normal? The girls that work there seem nice, she was even gonna through me in a free treatment without telling the main dr./clinic owner. He seems like a real cheap ass.

I don't understand when you're going to drop $1800+ Canadian on 6 treatments plus a free one, that they can't even give you a sample to see if it even works. I can't believe these places, they just want to take your money and run.

Also joben , I should mention, they have an Alex laser but refuse to use it on the chest since it's "too much work" or some crap like that. They will only offer the LightSheer Duet and claim it works just as well and it is faster. Have you ever tried the LightSheer?

I have no clue why they would tell you using an Alex is "too much work." Seems like BS to me. I have never been treated with Lightsheer. I've read that with an experienced user it is an effective laser, but I found the Alex works well for me so I stick with what works.

As for shedding...that is a good sign. However, I've read that hair can shed and that does not always mean the follicle is dead. Put another way, settings that are too low can cause the hair to shed, but not damage the follicle enough to stop future hair growth. Laser settings have to high enough.

You don't think the LightSheer is as good? It is a laser correct?

The groupon I purchased was a great deal, $200 for a year of treatments (she schedules them 5-6 weeks apart so around 10 treatments). I couldn't pass it up. After seeing how it did on the first visit I think I will upgrade the deal I bought to include more areas.

It has been a week and all the treated hair has shed, I'm impressed.

Just to be clear, she is using a lightsheer duet (I think I just read somewhere there is a "standard" lightsheer). It is a diode type laser if I remember right.

Suruchi seriously needs to be permanently banned from this site. SPAM is annoying.

I also am in agreement with Michael
Dee and Andrea, I spent a ton of time I didnt have bumping posts on saturday that had lost relevance due after the last time they did this. At least they're choosing posts from the last decade, but this has just become a spam charade. I respect all posters here, but in my opinion Suruchi puri's account should be disabled.

To interested parties, I've sent email to Andrea/ Dee requesting Suruchi's account be disabled from posting. I'm not Sure Dee has the ability to do this and I have no power to do anything but ask them to sort it out.

Edit: That was fast!
Andrea has deleted the account. She also advises there is a big update coming to hairtell for a new mobile platform.
