Hi all, so it’s been a while since I went to my Electrologist and there have been a couple of dark marks/spots that have been there for many weeks now. Usually my spots fade away on a week but now I’m getting worried cuz I have these spots that are now red, purplish. Idk If it is hyper pigmentation. Can someone please look at the pics and help me out? Please ignore my hairs frown .

On this cheek it looks like an acne cyst? http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah23...ps272e0dsj.jpeg
I’m not sure what it is and what should I do if it is a cyst? Shall I leave it alone? Will these marks fade? In real life the spots look more dark- brown/purplish. Shall I avoid these areas during electrolysis as it could get darker, worse or interrupt the healing process? and how can I tell if hyper pigmentation is dermal or epidermal? I know I’m asking too many questions, sorry, but I’m just really confused. I’m having thermolysis done will it scar me or damage my skin because of skin colour? I have been researching all this before coming here but I haven’t found anything useful, so I thought why not ask the experts! smile Thank you all in advance.

Note: I am posting this again because I posted the other post in the wrong forum by accident, sorry.

Nothing, I just wash my face with a face wash and use sun screen when I go out. Sometimes I moisturise with Nivea lotion but almost if the time I use aloe Vera gel. Is there something I should be using? I’m really worried now.

OK! I have never broken out like this! Just today I got three new spots out Of nowhere. No white heads just red and bumpy and they look disgusting on my skin. Please can someone tell me what this is. Is it ance or something else? What type of acne is it and what should I do? Will electrolysis increase these spots? Can I use benzoyl peroxide on them?
Photo i took today just now:

There is a whole list of possibilities why you may have gotten these acne-like spots.

If you want the hair permanently removed and insist that your skin look perfectly untouched while the tiny wounds are healing, then you are asking for too much. You should have been prepared for such normal possible side effects before the first insertion was made. Then, you could have decided to proceed or to decline treatment.

Some side effects are just a natural consequence to tissue being zapped with enough energy to permanently remove hair and some side effects are caused by the client after they leave the office. Which is which??? We can only guess. It's there. It's not a grave concern. There will be no permanent damage to the skin.

Those acne-like manifestations will heal on their own. You need not do anything, but if you want to use benzoyl peroxide, go ahead. It will heal either way.

There are no dermatologists on this site. Some of us practice electrolysis and sometimes can identify common post-treatment lesions from photos ... but when we cannot, it's just a guess. So, I'll have a "stab at it" too:

We all have resident bacteria living all over our entire skin. It looks to me like your own bacteria (my guess: staph) has taken up residence and created a couple pimples. These should resolve as your own immune system kills-off the bacterial overgrowth.

Were you my client, I would have you carefully wash before and after a treatment (at home) with a surgical preparation such as Hibiclens (to kill-off a good portion of the bacteria). I would also apply it at 50% strength at the conclusion of each treatment; and then no other product. Follow instructions for whatever product is applicable.

Then again, this is a total guess because like all of us we cannot diagnose anything and none of us are dermatologists. If you sometimes get such random (and good sized) outbreaks like this, that would tend to confirm my arbitrary idea.
