Hi everyone I'm new here and would really appreciate some advise. About ten years ago I had laser on my bikini line and underarms. It worked great for my bikini line but no results in my underarms.

I started electrolysis somewhat recently on my underarms and 3 1/2 years later (with very regular treatments) they are still super hairy. That electrologist claimed about 40% of the hair was reduced. There is some reduction, but no where near what I think it should be for the time involved. I found someone new, she seems very thorough, but far slower. The first women would accomplish in 45 what the new one will need about 6 hours for. At this point I am very concerned about the cost involved and how to determine what is normal/ effective and what is not.

The new practitioner is using blend mode and treating for up to 10 seconds per hair sometimes more than once if it does not feel dead. I am not sure what method the first used but she only took about a second per hair.

I did get some angry red welts this time that lasted about a week and some scabs. Is that normal/ ok?

My skin is very sensitive to both waxing and shaving so I would really like all that hair to finally be gone. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!!

hummm ... I don't know what to say on this one.

With female underarms, I guarantee (yes a real guarantee) that the entire job will take no more than 8-hours (total). If it does, treatments are free. (It's all about HOURS ... not "years.")

This is MY standard ONLY, and no one else should state this ... They should, however, be able to state their own averages (for non-hormonal body hair such as underarms).

If your blend person is taking "too long" (10-seconds is fine) maybe this time the hairs will be killed ... thus making the "too long" actually quicker.

One second is enough to kill a thick hair like those you can find in the underarms. In medium or fine hairs, that time margin can be reduced.

Yes, I said well, I do not mean to pluck the hair with tweezers, but to a permanent hair removal performed with electrolysis, where the High Frequency current (alone or in company) predominates. The question is how much and where do you apply that HF current?

I agree with Michael, the axillas (or any other area of the body) should not require 3 1/2 years of regular treatments if between session and session those areas remain untouched.

If I understand correctly, you had regular appointments over 3,5 years for your underarms, right? How regular were they exactly, once a month? What's your total treatment time (approx.)? I'm assuming you've got a lot of hours under your belt...

How can there be such a huge difference in treatment time compared to what Michael Bono (hi, we meet again) posted?

Another mystery that needs to be debunked!
