Picked this up on eBay yesterday. Very clean, on the outside at least; about the only obvious bit of wear is the slight crack in the screen. There's a CB-2 manual on eBay, should that work in case the machine doesn't include one? Were CB-2 designs consistent over the years? I've written the seller asking whether the manual is included in the first place. RA Fischer don't sell manuals for these old machines, Texas Electrolysis don't have them either, or the Bono book; Fischer do have Hinkel's book, though, is that worth having on the shelf for a rank beginner like me?

Does the Fischer use standard size probes, too? I want to pick up the disposables and accessories ASAP.

I have a session today and will show my operator my purchase, which will no doubt get me a bunch of tsk tsk tsks, she thinks I'm completely nuts for wanting to mess around with DIY. She uses a new CB-X.

I'll run every test suggested here when it arrives, which shouldn't be long.

the majority of manuals for electrolysis epilators arent worth having. They cover the most basic of the controls and provide no value to doing treatments. If you are going to pay money to get information, I would recommend it is better spent on either "the Blend Method" by Michael Bono or a used copy of "electrolysis Thermolysis and the Blend" by Hinkel and Lind.

What exactly have I started? I am probably the best known DIYer when it comes to TG elecctrolysis and its biggest advocate. But even I would tell you it is not something to be taken on except by the most determined. Recently I'm seeing a literal AVALANCHE of trans folks looking to DIY. The reality is I know only a small percentage of those inspired who will actually succeed in the process.

It isn't just you - the post here estimating that a DIYer saved themselves about $55k USD inspired me too! Not to mention the gal I met who told me about clearing her chest with a OneTouch - and Melanie Anne Phillips did the same 25 years ago, writing about it on the first trans website.

I'm very much a low income earner and, although in my case full body hair removal won't cost as much as even the most inexpensive SRS like it can with some, I don't want to burn up money either. I like to work with my hands, am stubborn as a mule, have plenty of free time; so I feel confident about spending a little $$$$ here. Hair is a massive disphoria for me, too.

None of us are keeping up with the cost of living, too, and more people are identifying as trans than ever, so it's no surprise you're being inundated these days, I think.

My first used machine I bought 10 years ago was a cb2 also on eBay! I got a manual off the Fischer company but I will see if I can find it for you.

Heads up the machine has no foot pedal and is automated only, so make sure you have a working red electrode cord. I didn’t know this when I got it since I also had no manual. Better buy a new probe holder cord too if your going to buy a red cord.

Another thing mine was semi broken meaning no working high frequency which also meant no blend. I was stuck learning on galvanic which is unforgiving with newbie insertions lol! But very effective with hair removal. I still have the machine and not sure what I should do with it since it’s galvanic only.

Check yours with the egg white test
