Hello, I'm looking into permanent hair removal for my legs, thighs and butt.

I'm not sure whether electrolysis or laser would be best. For the legs I would be happy with a reduction but for the butt I would want complete removal, so not sure if laser followed by clearing up with electrolysis would be best.

My feelings are that I would prefer to do laser, as it is quicker per session and less healing time than electrolysis. However, I'm not sure if the hairs are too fine? They are dark and fairly thick, though not as thick as the bikini area. I would hate to get laser stimulation and make the area worse 😕

I've attached some pics so you can see. The first pic came out a little blurry as it is hard to take a photo of that area but the hairs are about as thick as the ones on my inner thigh.

pic 1 - butt
pics 2&3 - lower leg
pic 4 - inner thigh

Any help would be much appreciated 😀

Hi Georgina1234

The diameter of your hair is a good candidate for laser. But it looks too sparse for me I'm skeptical if laser will work? But u can try laser for once & see how it responds. Please please bear in mind that laser wont get rid 100% of your hairs permanently.
For more info please visit my facebook Upwey Laser. I posted info that clients should be aware there.

It would be criminal to do LHR on those lower legs considering how sparse the hair is. Your time and money would be far better spent on electrolysis at this point.

The hair on your butt seems to be more dense and even darker, so you could probably see some results with LHR before moving on to electrolysis for complete removal.

Hi everyone thanks for your help smile
One concern I have is that for the hairs on my butt, although they are dark the root of the hair (bulb?) is white.
I'm currently having laser on my underarms and it hasn't been very successful, I've since plucked a few out to inspect the root on those and they too are white despite appearing black and thick above the skin. I'm wondering if this is why I'm not getting any reduction after 6 sessions, and whether therefore laser would be a waste of time on the butt area? :-/
