I am skin type iv and got consultations at a few places for underarms. Some use diode (lightsheer and soprano) and others use yag. I googled a bit and got that diode is recommended for type 1-4 and yag is recommended for type 4-6... so i guess both are fine but is one more effective on type iv skin?

In my opinion, both lasers should work IF the technician uses appropriately high settings.

I like the Yag, as long as the system delivers consistent, sustained energy during the pulse duration. This way you'll get a better result.
