When going to a salon for a waxing treatment, clients often experience bloodspots from the waxing procedure. This raises issues of hygiene for the consumer as there is a possible risk of cross contamination between clients if the environment is not sterile. Although the risk is low, it is still there, and how concerned about this should we be as a consumer? Has anyone heard of any research that has been conducted on cross contamination of harmful pathogens between clients in waxing treatments? If so, I would be interested in any relevant information for a report I am writing relating to hygiene in the waxing industry.

I have a section on waxing clinical data on hairfacts:

Hairfacts: Waxing clinical data

You'll note that several papers discuss infections and irritations.
