A while ago I posted this:
"The reason why doctors don't want to prescribe spironolactone/aldactone is since it will harm fetal developement in male children if you became pregnant.
If you had a birth defect in your child, then they would be liable since they prescribed it for you."

It is one thing for a genetic male to take spironolactone and probably all it will harm is their libido or possibly their ability to have sex. They should also be aware that they will have to watch their potassium intake since it will cause their body to retain potassium.

However women who could get pregnant have to be careful since it could harm the baby. Nobody wants to bring a child into the world who could have a birth defect if they can prevent it.
