When you pluck a hair at least you won't have to worry about that one for about a month.

I don't ever recall plucking an ingrown hair and having it regrow as an ingrown. Just make sure your instruments are clean before you dig and yank that ingrown out. 91% rubbing alcohol works best for this.

I, too, love to take vengeance on ingrowns, but revenge is a dish best served cold-- take your time, work clean as RJC points out, and don't dig for them-- you can get a tiny scar doing that.

I also find taking a Q-Tip soaked with Tend Skin and pressing it on the inflamed area helps it clear up much more quickly. Some also use benzoyl peroxide products like those found in acne medications.
