I recently received an e-mail containing several trivia items. It was entitled "Trivia at its best." One of the items was that in ancient Egypt, priests plucked EVERY hair from their bodies, including their eyebrows and eyelashes! I wonder how long it took them to do that. The eyelash part must have been painful.

I am not contemplating doing that, but I admire their persistence.

I was wondering if this is an urban legend, but several other items on the list are true.

The Egyptians did practice a lot of hair removal (waxing and threading, for instance), and there are plenty of images of bald priests. I'm not sure it's been confirmed, or even if it's confirmable. One problem with a lot of those trivia lists is that they mix truth and fiction into an inseparable mess, like the hair removal quacks.
