I would just like to say that I decided to join this forum after reading your thread (I read it from the beginning to the end). It is so inspirational! I am considering doing treatments on my upper lip. I have some fuzz on my upper lip. The hairs there are fine hairs which are longer than normal and therefore are noticeable (up to 5 mm in length in some areas).
I was wondering, did the hairs you have treated come back at the same length they used to be or did they come in longer? I am afraid of making my problem worse if I ever decided to stop the treatments. Currently I use a bleeching cream, which works fine but you can see the hairs in the sunlight (bothers me).
Thank you, Alexandra

hello alexandra. am glad u read my thread end to finish becuase u can learn alot! and am super happy you feel inspired by my posts! U came to a great forum. the people in here are great and love helping and know alot about hair and different ways of getting rid of it. i think for u. electrolysis will be great. it doesnt look like u have alot of hair to deal with and its not in a large area. so go ahead! but please please go to several places, try a sample treatment from them then decide which one is best then continue with them. now ur questions. the hairs that i treated. on the side burns. they havent come back. thats my best success there. so no hairs, long or short have come back outside the odd one hair that pops up every two months or so and its thin and light in colour. the hairs on my chin and chest bone return long (not longer than before) but longer than the surrounding vellus hairs but they are thinner and not as dark as original. ur problem wont get worst with electrolysis. u just need to go to a place that is recommended and that has a good machine and good practitioner. thats a whole book on its own of telling u whats good. so keep diong the research in this forum and u will understand whats good adn whtas not . u should be just fine! be patient and make sure u got a surplus of money so u stay consistent with treatment. good luck!

hello lagirl, yeah your right about the polysporin. but i do it the first time and couple times after only when i feel its necessary. see am a medical professional and am very particular about infections and stuff lol. i didnt have witch hazel and my chest bone was itching me so the polysporin works well. i put it on very thin and it helps. i let it kinda air dry and have my shirt on top. i'll do that for the first 1 day or so. and i dont do it every time only when it itches. i could shave very closely. that depends on how the area looks at that time and my mood lool. i've done the shaving and i hated it. i'll see how it goes. thanks for ur post as usual u area always ready to help

And when we say Aloe Vera Gel, we mean go to the part of the store where they sell the stuff for you to DRINK and use that, as it doesn't have alcohols, and polysylabic additions. The label may say 99% aloe, but when they add 1% chemicals, you really are better off breaking off a leaf from your grandmother's plant and rubbing it on you.

Thanks very much lagirl. your input and expertise is much appeciated! i also do the pure aloe vera gel in the fridge. its very good especially right after treatment to help cool things down.
Just for anyone reading this here is some general info to know...at least what i know from being a health practitioner and my experience with electrolysis.
the most important thing. even better than polysporin is to keep the area clean with soap and water and to keep it dry. and to generally avoid polsyporin or antiobiotic creams or whatever beyond the first day of wound because that delays the healing process. some people like to use alcohol and that generally will delay the healing process as well. Generally polysporin is recommended for puncture type wounds, or dirty wounds or those wounds that have early infection. its recommended to apply it in a thin later and not to use it for more than 1 to maximum few days in case of infection. and DO NOT cover these wounds with a bandage. they need to air out and drain if there is any pus (such as in pimples and other infections).
but because a good electrologist should use disposable or sterile needles. hopefully there should be no fear of infection and no need for any serious antiseptic medication.
because of polysporin gel thick consistency it can clog pores as Lagirl mentioned and could lead to break outs. but that shouldnt be a problem if u apply it thinly and keep the area exposed.
stick to soap and water and keep the area dry and witch hazel or other more natural products.
good luck to all!!

Rachelle, I was actually thinking of going to the place you posted in this thread (in Missisauga). I work in Etobicoke, so it's not too far from here. Are you happy with that lady there? Do they have more than one person working at the same place? Regards, Alexandra

hello all. had a session on june 12. for 20 mins. we worked on chin, one hair on the left side burn, the chest bone and nipples. i hadnt done nipples in a long time because they take longer to grow out. but they are still coming out dark and thick. but maybe less in number. the chest bone is coming out definitly thinner and lighter in colour. however still long if i let them grow. the chin are same as before. the side burns are doing AMAZING. and they've been that way since maybe 2 years now! its amazing how that part of my body is great with electrolysis but the rest of my body is a complete utter mystery by how long its taking. so strange. anywho. its couple days later and chin and nipples look great. no hair. the chest bone has red dots that are healing up. this is the norm for me for that area. um what else.. am travelling in 12 days and getting married in 3 weeks! AH! (thats nervousness and excitement all in one lol) i will book another appointment the DAY of my travel. just have it in the morning and then if i have time i'll post about it. if not. u wont be hearing from me for a month or more. so take care all and i wish you all the best summer and best of hair removal success!! thanks to all for ur advice and concern and encouragement. also thanks to those lovely ppl who have been following my thread. am really glad that its helped alot of people xoxoxo R
