Agreed. Absolutely life transforming work. Such an eye opener to the struggle, heart, and spirit of transgendered people and people that care about them. Wonderful work and contributions Andrea!

TransAmerica did not win the Oscar, but it is still golden in our eyes. The DVD just went on sale. You might want to pick it up.

In other news, I am off on walkabout again, I will be less available than usual. Be nice, and those of you who know how, use the search feature, and cut and past previous answers when you can. Of course, I am not the only electrologist around here, so the board should not be struck silent in any event.

Be good to each other, and take care,

James

I'll drink to that! I really liked Dolly Parton's song "Travlin' Thru". Sounds like a good theme song for our dear James since he's on the gitty-up a lot. We'll keep the home fires burning for you and we'll be nice . Promise.

I don't know how you feel about "the Super Natural" but I keep getting bitten by it.

In summer of 2001 I visited a friend in Queens NY. For the fist time in my life I was in NYC with time on my hands, transportation, and the money to do what ever I wanted. I walked around, and in my mind, I was debating which observation tower I was going to go to, since they all charge money to go to the top of those skyscrapers. I wrestled with my inner voice that kept telling me to go to the top of the Twin Towers, and I kept saying, Empire State Building goes first, and if I only see one observation tower on this trip, that will be it. The inner voice said, "You will never have the chance to do the Twin Towers again", and I said, I LIVE IN BUFFALO NY! I can visit the Twin Towers any time I have $150 and 3 hours. Needless to say, I will never have the chance to go to that observation deck, because 45 days later, they were gone.

This past year, a friend visited me, as he always does every year, and when he left, asked me to come see his new place. Although he visits me every year, I don't even stop at his place every time I pass through his state. I felt a little nagging feeling about making time to go see the house he had finally purchased after having lost everything when his marriage broke up and ruined him financially. No weekend soon was easy enough for me to go down and do that. Then one day, just as I am about to turn my cell phone off while walking down the tunnel to the plane taking me to Hawaii, I get a phone call telling me that he was dead. Had I gone to visit him, instead of saying it was too close to the Hawaii trip, I would have been there the weekend he died... maybe even saved him, because he had a heart attack and died alone at home with no one but his dog to call for help. He was found only after missing work.

Well, it happened again this weekend.

A friend was arranging for lots of pals to meet up in Vegas. He lives in Utah near by. Everyone was all flakey on coming. I never said that I was going to go, but when people started flaking out, I thought, I really should just hit the charge card and go just because the few of us who do show up will have a great time and hold it over everyone elses nose what a great time we had without them. I chose the easy way again and stayed home. He rolled his Jeep in the dessert on the way home last night.

I think I had better put a mic on my inner voice and turn the volume up high. Maybe I will be a better listener then.

If any of you want to send best wishes, and more importantly, a donation to his 15 month old daughter and 7 month pregnant widow, please PayPal her any amount you can spare at <deleted as situation is over now>, Subject Line: Condolences From Friends of James-7. This way, she will know that she is not crazy and has forgotten who you are. I can't imagine what it must have been like to post her last blog entry, but you can read that at <deleted as situation is over now>
I apologize for being off topic, but I have it bad enough knowing that I will one day have up to 5 kids to take care of on my own (4 down, 5 to go), but I can't imagine what a woman with a toddler and 7 months worth of belly is going through the day after being awakened by the authorities telling her that her husband won't be coming home ever again.

Please send you kindness her way in any way that you can, and that includes prayers. I would hope someone would do as much for me in the same situation. (Ok smart Alecks, I know I could not be 7 months pregnant you know what I mean)

Edit Reason: Insurance finally paid out, no further aid required

Seems fishy.

Its a link to a porn site and the stripper doesn't even seem genuinely sad at her "soulmate"'s death. I think she sells porn with herself in it, but didn't check it out fully.

Look at how logically she thinks from the moment the police leave her house with the news of the death and starts blogging away.

Was she even sad for a few mins before thinking of money and bank accounts and advertising her porn sales page?

I guess porn stars are poor these days huh?

I know these people personally, and as I said, had I not decided not to meet up with the group of friends that were meeting up in Vegas last weekend, I would have gotten to see my friend Don one last time before he died.

I was stunned to find out that in setting up their new life, no one bothered to take out insurance policies for the family. A mistake I would not have made, but then again, the reason I did not go to meet up with all my friends for a weekend in Vegas was because we already had a date planned for NYC in October, where we would also be together on my birthday. So that tells you how vulcan my mind is.

Certainly, no one is saying you should do anything you are not comfortable with. If you just want to verify the tragic death of Mr. Donald Lemmon, a call to the Clark County Coroner's office in Las Vegas will serve that purpose. I would think that you would understand that, anyone who knew a woman who has been out of the work world for years, living with her prince charming, married 2 years, has been a stay at home mom the entire time, has a 15 month old, and is 7 months pregnant and her husband dies rolling over his jeep in the Nevada desert would tell his friends about her situation and say that if they wanted to help her out, here is an avenue to do it. I just happen to have a few more people listening to me when I say that.

Oh,and as for her acting credits, her last adult film was made in the mid 90's, she has also been cast in TV and Theatrical releases, (ever hear of The Big Labowski?)and is Jennifer Tilly's favorite body double.

Again, I have been a friend to her husband and her, and his death came as a shock to us all. The bigger shock was that the idea that they had forever was so strong that they really did not make plans for something like this to happen. Is it really so hard to believe that a beautiful woman moved in with and later married a guy whom she relied on to take care of her the rest of her life, and was completely unprepared for his untimely death? Is it also so hard to believe that a nearly 8 months pregnant woman with an infant child can't just go down to McDonalds and pick up a quick McJob?

Ok, some of you are really good at finding things out and keeping track of things.

I have received a few messages asking about things I might want for my birthday, and in general, I am like most guys, a gift certificate is best, as there is not a lot that I really have a burning desire for. (outside of Janet Jackson, Shania Twain, Lucy Liu, and another convertable sports car \:D

On the other hand, I do find a certain situation this year that makes a perfect gift possible from many people. You see, I like football, and I am number 7, and somehow, the number 7 has become one of the "IT" numbers in football now. So, there are lots of teams with currently available number 7 jerseys, and most teams have 3 jersey versions available. I figure that if everyone who wanted to send me a birthday gift just sent either a gift cert, or a number 7 jersey, I probably would not have the same jersey twice, nor would I "Collect Them All", so everyone is safe. For that matter, if you want to send me your local school's number 7 jersy, that is great too, just let me know what school and team it is. (for the record, my favorite number 7 is Doug Flutie, but I don't have any of his San Diego nor New England Jerseys)

So there you go, for those who want to send me either a birthday or holiday gift later in the year, that is the answer to your question. Andrea will have to answer for herself, if she chooses(January's her birthday month). I don't know if she wants me speaking for her on this topic. We are glad that you all are getting something out of this, and we return the collective hug back to you.

To those who asked, thanks for your kindness. For those who are not interested, why are you reading this? The Subject Title alone should have convinced you to skip on to the next post string.
