Wow, $1850 new. And the one I have is about as new as a used machine can be, too. Just sitting there alone for 2 years. \:\) I could really use that kind of help during my grad school years. They don't allow me to work so I've been living off my savings and their small stipend.

I guess I'll put it up on ebay at some point then (I hate ebay, and wish there were better places to sell these things), but if anyone wants to talk to me privately about it before, you're more than welcome.

James those list prices are very misleading. Have you ever walked into a Guitar Center and looked at the List/Sale prices? Same thing. Myself, as much as anybody, wants to see her get the very best dollar for her machine. I really hope she does. But the truth is, the ST-250 Blend machines routinely sell on ebay for about $700 to $900 on a good day. Above that, and you're in the Sequentium ballpark, and at $900 your in the low Senior ballpark. At $1,800 anybody who knows the pricing is going to hold out a few months for a used Senior II. Also she needs to see if it's the SuperFlash capable ST-250 Blend, or the older S-T Blend-256 I think it's called. That's pretty much like a SB-8, one step below the SEQ-1, Sequential Programme.

Her best bet is to try listing on the AEA or Canadian Electrology boards with help from someone here. If that doesn't pan out then go with the ten-day list on ebay with a good safety reserve. This will allow maximum exposer and bids. As for Dr. Heimlich, he routinely bids at $550, so going through friendly channels such as this, I'm not sure what he'd offer. Give him a ring, it couldn't hurt http://www.texaselectrolysissupply.com/

Clareblend on ebay, looks good.

Clareblend on ebay

Here's a pretty clean Clareblend on ebay. It's a quick listing, it'll be gone in three days. Reasonable ship, domestic, good basic machine. Worth it.

What year is this model? It appears to be ancient, but I assume it is a good basic machine like you said.

Have you asked your electrologist if she's interested in buying it?

This is an older model Clareblend Ultrablend. Expect to be able to use it for either Galvanic or Blend but I do not see any thermolysis settings. Also no timing control, Which means all manual settings. Repair parts may be getting impossible to obtain any longer. Also do not trust the voltmeter settings for the RF level as it is just an indicator on how far the RF knob has turned, and I see it is the same meter, with the same markings as the current model, which also has the same problem.

If you just want a machine to use for galvanic or blend, then it should work as long as it keeps working and parts are available.

Parts are available, and Texas Electrolysis Supply fixes this model. As for thermolysis, it is possible to do straight thermolysis on this machine, as it is a two footpedal machine, and the timing is how long you hold your foot on the pedal, thus no thermolysis timing knob. (now you see if you can tap your foot exactly the same way hundreds of times per hour and see if you don't warm up to the idea of an auto-sensor with auto settings on an electrolysis machine for consistency)

I was just amazed at how someone bid on the ten dollar Verseo e-pen, right above it, but bypassed the Clareblend for 99 cents! I mean 99 cents!

The Clareblend did not have all that sexy advertising lingo and pictures in its ad. Besides, the verso pen assures the bidder that it is NEW.

Blendtone on ebay

Here's a good ol' familiar hair removal war horse. A Blendtone! Eight day listing, so the one other bidder that followed the Clareblend that went for $357 is bound to take a swipe at this unit. I was surprised to see so few bidders take a shot at the Clareblend. It looked like a halfway decent machine.

Anyway, at least we know the green light works on this one. With re-sellers starting to focus more on the computerized units, this may slip away to a DIYer for a hundred or two.
