James and Arlene; I just sold my Clareblend to Chuck on here. His electrologist uses the Ultrablend and has offered to show her how to use it. It was just a back up machine for me, and to be honest, was not that impressed with its performance. I did not make any money off the deal, but did pretty much get reimbursed for the money that I put into the unit. I really hope that Chuck get good use out of the machine. At least I know it will work for her. The only function that would have worked when I received it was Galvanic, as the RF boards output transistor had all it leads broken, thus providing no RF output, even though the meter said it was working. I packed the unit well, and it arrived completely intact. So Chuck on here is going to be starting out as a newby, but is willing at least to learn.

A cheap galvanic only unit for someone who is quick to action. You have to buy a needle holder to do real electrolysis with this, as this was a scam unit sold for about $4,000 and a promise of no needle hair removal. Add a probe and you can at least do real galvanic hair removal. For $100 it is better than a Vector. http://cgi.ebay.com/TE-Systems-Electroly...1QQcmdZViewItem

A really nice UNDERPRICED Fischer unit that the seller doesn't even realize will do galvanic, thermolysis, AND BLEND. A steal for the person who acts fast. http://cgi.ebay.com/professional-Electro...1QQcmdZViewItem

Is the Fischer SE-5 a good machine for a beginner DIYer, or would it be better to hold out for a more expensive Apilus unit?

Vickie; The Fischer is a good machine but not what I would call better or best. Apilus makes it easy for a beginner by having presets arranged by location of the body and also with levels of intensity. So someone starting out does not need to know near as much technical information to start. The Fischer is going to require the purchaser to know what they are doing. No presets of any kind. That being said. Someone who knows the technical information can make a Fischer do as well as an apilus, at least when using the same modalities. The difference is in how much training someone wants to put into learning.

Just in case anyone is looking at this one, keep in mind the TE-629 and all other socalled "TransDermal" machines don't work as directed. One can only modify the machine by adding an actual electrolysis probe holder and then one can perform manual galvanic electrolysis. If the seller is not holding out for some ridiculous price, this one could be good for about $100 I can't really see paying $500 for a machine that can't even do thermolysis or blend. http://cgi.ebay.com/Professional-Electro...1QQcmdZViewItem

Now here is a very nice Fischer machine at a good price. The person who gets this will do well, assuming they read their books, and really try hard at learning how to do this, and gets a partner to trade work with them. http://cgi.ebay.com/Fischer-CBX-Compu-Bl...1QQcmdZViewItem

I was offered a machine called a "Sudonna Ferrie Thermaderm Short-wave", has anyone ever heard of it? I looked around and couldn't find anything about a company by that name, other than Texas Electro carries some Sudonna cords. Is it a legit pro machine, and might it do more than just thermolysis as the name suggests?
