Just for giggles, I thought about that and realized the cutoff date for the museum is 1990 (for whatever reason 1990 was chosen as the cutoff date ) I assume there were no laser hair removal machines before 1990, which might explain the absence of laser machines?

Or, those laser machines are so expensive, they are rarely retired and/or recycled for parts in some manner?

I am sure that it is much like the last of the X-Ray Hair Removal machines. The last one was in use until around 1976, when the owner could no longer find anyone willing to fix it, or sell parts for it, due to liability issues. (Keep in mind that it was well known that X-Ray Hair Removal caused radiation sickness by the 50's)
