The November 15 2002 Orange County Weekly has a story called "Infomercial Junkies" by Anthony Pignataro, about Johnny and Frankie arata's obsession with buying stuff they see on TV:

http://www.ocweekly.com/ink/03/11/gift-pignataro.php

quote:
Consider the unfortunate and short-lived fascination with the Epilstop.

"That’s a hair-removal system," said Frankie. "You spray it on your skin, then wipe it off. That doesn’t work at all."

"Yeah," said Johnny. "It tells you to wipe it off after, like, a minute or it will start to burn. And it burns."

"We sent it back," said Frankie. "We kept the free bathrobe it comes with, only that was never really free because it required $14.95 in shipping and handling."

I too, believed them AH's.
At the time I tried Epil-stop, I was still using nair, which I have been using for years and never had a problem with it.

OK, but I too saw the propaganda and through I'd give it a try. Seems easy, just spary and wipe.

OK,,,, on the day I tried Epil-stop, I got burned bad. I was putting burn cream for almost a week.
[Embarrassed]

That product should be banned.
[Mad]

If anybody, wants my only once used Epil-stop, is welcome to it?

Epil Stop and Spray is a complete joke. I haven't heard one good thing about this company. I tried it, and it hardly removed any hair at all. Did you see the new infomerical for Epil Stop and Wipe Away? I guess it's just like Epil Stop and Spray, except it's in the form of wipes. They say you can remain hair free for up to two months? lol Is that some kind of a joke. A depilatory that lasts two months?

Todd:

How else do you think they stay in business.

Cause people like us,,,, somehow,,,, always take a chance and believe(or at least hope) them sum-sa-biches are telling the truth.

And we end up getting burned for it. [Mad]
