hi everyone,
i am new and i was wondering if i had laser done to my face, would i have induced hair? i am a male and my hair start of at the beard area as dark n coarse but going upwards from the beard area it gradually transforms into a darkish fine hair( accelerated vellous hair!?!) so if i get the beard part lasered, would it induce hair on the other (non bearded part of the face?) n i am planning to get it done by lightsheer as i am skin type 3-4. (closer to 3 i would say.)

also what do you suggest regarding the visible vellous hair? get that lasered? the bit i am worried about is...when i get my coarse hair lasered, there is bound to be some fine hair that will come in contact with the laser as its a gradual transformation from coarse to fine. any comments? and i am sorry to post it in the wrong place, didnt realise it.

Men don't usually have to worry about the hair on there face being stimulated, as the finer hairs are generally thick enough to be lasered anyway.

If some areas have a majority of/or nothing but blonde hairs there, it is advisable not to get lasered there (e.g. the blonde vellus hairs most men have on the top of their cheek bones), these should be cleared with electrolysis.

If your worried about stimulated hair growth and so on, have you ever considered electrolysis? If performed by a good practitioner you could make very good progress.

Please read the Laser FAQ's in the Laser light forum for more information. http://www.hairtell.com/forum/ubbthreads....html#Post35257

Benji

I am a Nationally Board Certified Laser Hair Removal Specialist, Clinical and Medical Electrologist for many years. I don't see young men of your age produce more new growth from being treated. When it comes to the fine hair if your skin type is four it is unlikely you will get total clearance. Not enough energy can be applied into thin hair competing with darker skin color. Contrast is everything when it comes to great laser hair removal.
Electrology works on every hair and blend electrology is my favorite...I feel it has the best res

There have been some people who have posted on this site that they had increase of hairs where the thin vellus hairs on their face increased in thickness and or number. My recollection is that they were all women, but most men know that LASER won't remove 100% of the hair on their face, and that for that job one is best off with good electrolysis and that LASER is at best only a good start towards that goal.
