Hi,
im a male and i recently started shaving my private area. Im not gay i just like it being neater. i have a few problems with it tho, first of all the little red bumps that appear and second of all how the hair in that area grows back so fast. i was gonna try waxing strips on the areas at the very base of the penis and to the sides of that, also the upper part of my inner thighs. just because those areas have a lot of hair and after you shave you can still see the black dots where the hairs are. I would still shave the scrotum because i imagine that would totally wreck to wax and anywayz the hair there isnt as much ( you can not see the hairs after they are shaved. im not shaving the hairs of my lower abdomen ,they are just trimmed.
Can i use something like Nad strips and that 'tend skin' lotion to do the job? I dont wanna go to a salon for sure! does waxing cause ingrown hairs too? Please give me some advice ?? Thank you!

Yes, waxing, shaving, tweezing can cause ingrowns. TendSkin is a chemical exfoliator that helps the ingrowns release.
It's pick your poison time. No real good solutionn here for you since they are all the above mentioned are temporary and have side effects. Electrolysis will permanently remove the hair and laser will probably reduce the hair, but only if you are termed a "good candidate" for laser.
Since, you don't want to go to a salon to be waxed professionally, then I sure that electrolysis and laser are not on your agenda either unless you work you way slowly towards those ideas.
Sorry that I can't tell you that there is a magical creme that you apply yourself at home that will solve your problem with no side effects. Somebody's probably working on it though.

I used to wax at home with varying degrees of success. Obviously, if you are waxing yourself, the areas you can get to are limited. I have used both the wax strips and the microwavable wax tubs and both work OK. I now just go to the salon instead, it is much easier and thorough.

Ah, its so good to see the "smoothie" movement gaining converts; yes, good advice here as it is worth having it done professionally. Not very bad at all actually, and in some time, it will be just like any other grooming or spa treatment. Then, you will be ready for electrolysis and becoming permanent. It is all worth it, so read the forum threads and be prepared....

I've tried various hame waxing products for the area down there. My wife really likes the smooth feeling, but I'm usually sore for the next few days after waxing. My wife gets her brazilian professionally done and is fine. So, I decided that I would try going to a professional myself. The problem is that I can't seem to find anyone who will do a male brazilian. Does anyone know of a place in the DC area that does?!!

Hey Jedi, I can tell you that if you find a place that does full Brazillians you will have luck. I do brazillians and that is a part of the waxing....man or female...so they are out there....Good luck

...using Google to help. I searched for "men's waxing" and the town name... You can also try Craig's List if you live in a larger city. There are certainly the more "questionable" services on there, but I have found some good massage and waxing services as well from some very nice people (generally women) who work out of their homes and do not have an advertising budget. Thus, the "free" classified listings are the best way to find them (other than a referal of course). Note that the quality of service will vary and you may receive less-than-perfect results....

Hey. I am a male and I've for a long time ever since I've started caring about the way I look I have hated hair with a passion. I don't know why. But I'm having electrolysis done on my face because I don't want facial hair. At least not as bad as I have it. Anyways...like on other areas of my body such as my legs and bikini/anal area, I despise of that hair. I HATE hair "down there". But, I tried waxing at home one time and I didn't get the wax hot enough and it ended up costing me a layer of skin. So, at-home waxing really isn't in my options. I would like to go to a professional salon to have my waxing done but I'm just curious of a few things. Like, if I get a male-brazilian wax, do they wax the hair around your butt as well? Because I hate hair there as well. That is so unattractive. And my other question is how do you just go to a place like that and let someone you don't know just have all access to all your "business"? Ok...well I think that's about all my questions. All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
