Wow! This site is SO useful and I appreciate reading everyone's posts. I just now found the referral forum!

Can anyone recommend an electrologist they have had successful treatment with in Manhattan? There are a couple here, but the postings are 5 years old!

Also: Having had laser treatment for the past 7 years, I am used to skin type and hair color determining which laser is best: but I am still trying to figure out what electrolysis method(Galvanic,Thermolysis or Blend) is suitable for which kind of hair condition?
Or does it not work that way? Still a little confused...

Go to the search feature box located at the top right hand corner and type in 'Manhattan'. That should answer one question.

Seven years of Laser? My you have been patient and hopeful.

Any modality of electrolysis is suitable for any size hair on any color of skin on any color of hair. Whatever electrologist you choose, they will most likely be proficient at whatever they use the most. Some choose blend over thermolysis and vice versa. Not very many do straight galvanic anymore. My personal preference is Microflash thermolysis or PicoFlash thermolysis, however,PicoFlash can only be performed by an electrologist that has invested in the new Apilus Platinum epilator. I also use Blend, but not as much as the previous mentioned modalities.

The most important thing you can do is set up several consultations and get sample treatments to see how it feels and how your skin heals afterwards. Each practitioner is different, so that's why you would be wise to check out the talent in your area.

Skill is always number one and equipment issues are very close to that. A modern electrologist is not hindered by the limitations of old equipment. Any of the three modalities you mentioned will deliver permanent hair removal, but some are faster than others.
