Hey ,
I have gone already 2 treatments with the gentlelase at 18mm on my upper body. the treatment setting for my shoulders was 16j on both sessions and for other parts it was 14j on first session and 16j on the second.

now regarding to the settings and my hairs,
i have alot of fine black hairs which some are long on my sides and on my back (excapt for the shoulders which are coarse black hairs).

i want to know whether i should keep up with the 18mm spot size and go up to 20j and stay with that (for the fine black hairs) or maybe even try 15mm with 25j and stick with that , i am type I or II by the way - very light skin.

another thing i have noticed is that they dont put the spacer on my skin during the treatment , so maybe asking them to will help me to see better results ?

i will be glad to hear oppinions , espically from sslhr.

p.s.
maybe i will upload some pictures so you can see what i am talking about.

by the way, i am in the laser treatments for 2 years now , used to get treatments with lightsheer and
alex (which wasnt powerfull enough) , so i guess all of my hairs had been already sincnorized..

If your skin can handle 18mm 20J, you should stick with that. That would work best on finer hair too according to SSLHR. But I wouldn't expect miracles. Fine hair is hard to impossible to treat.

The spacer (distance gauge) should touch your skin. The laser is calibrated with the length of the distance gauge in mind.

I would use a 12 spot size for finer hair with the highest possible energy that your skin can handle.

I plucked some hairs to see how deep they are, and what i saw is the they are 2-3 mm deep so far (3 monthes after last treatment) , do you still recommend the 12mm with the highest energy ?

what are your success rate at treating fine hairs with this settings compared to treating with 18mm 20j like sslhr recommended more then once ? , will i need some treatments with that settings in order to start seeing if it does work or not? or will one treatment could tell me if i should continue with that settings ?

so many thoughts and advices about that.. that is confusing

thanks .

Coarse hair can be treated with 18 or 15 mm. However, as your hairs are finer and the 18 mm has a maximum output of 20 joules, a smaller spot size is needed in order to be able to raise the energy. Our success rate is quite high.
