How much scabbing is normal when working on a male leg?

According to the Bono book, my scabs are an acceptable size (the size of a pencil tip or less) and do not connect; however the Bono book was referring to body-technic blend, not plain galvanic or face-technic blend. While I think this scabbing is normal and my work is "acceptable", I want to make sure.

The area on the left (above the flash) is from about 3-4 weeks ago, mostly galvanic and a little blend. No scabs or scarring, only a little redness around the follicles treated if I look very close. The middle is from about a week ago using galvanic, the right end near the foot is about 2 weeks old and only blend was used.

The scabbing seems the same for blend and galvanic, no real difference between modalities.

Galvanic 0.4ma in 45 sec per hair, Blend 0.4ma + 2.5hf (2.3 is the face-technic starting point) in 15 sec per hair. Size 4 normal length needle, type 3 skin, 60 lye unit hairs. I figured the anagen depth was almost the whole length of the needle.

If it is not normal, could it be from inserting the needle beyond anagen depth and breaking the bottom of the follicle? Or an improper insertion and breaking the follicle wall? Thanks for any input smile

This looks normal for the lower leg with the epilator you are using. Aim for less skin reaction if you can by adjusting the intensity and timing. Make perfect insertions. Experiment a little and then observe in a couple days. This is why we call electrolysis an art as well as a skill.

I just upgraded to an Apilus SM-500 though I haven't used it much yet (I am amazed what it can do!) Interesting, newer epilators can produce less scabbing, with all other factors being equal?

YES!
All other things being equal, a newer, computerized electrolysis machine will produce less (can we say no) scabbing.
