well im already committed to a contract at ALC for hair removal. i guess i should have done a little more research. i didn't even know about ipl until i had already started treatments at ALC. i just had my third one a few days ago. im getting my lower back and butt done so it's hard for me to tell if there's any shedding but the hair is definitely growing a lot slower (though that's not the actual results i want, i want hair reduction).

so i started getting curious and after researching online i've come across studies that say laser and ipl and fairly similar. but then i look at the forums and all i see is people bashing ipl.

so now i feel like i've thrown away close to 3000$ as ALC is using ipl/rf and im really irritated. so i was wondering if there are any success stories with ipl or has anyone had ipl treatments and had satisfactory results?

im a skin type ii/iii and the hair is dark and kind of coarse.

I guess you can tell by the # of responses you've recieved - IPL doesn't work

You will see results using an IPL. Using a laser is just more effective. If they have a location nearby that uses an alexandrite laser, maybe you can transfer to that location for treatments.

Good luck, a lot of ALC feedback is negative.

Some ALC locations still use the older LightSheer. If there is one near you and someone experienced using it, I would opt to go to that center for treatments.

IPL works, just not as well as true laser. You should get some results. The question is how good of results you will get. That will depend also on how coarse the hair is and how high of settings they use. It's in your best interest to seek out LightSheer and/or ask for high settings.
