Is it safe to use Hydroquinone to lighten hyperpigmentation above the lips while still at Laser hair Removal to get rid of hairs on upper lips? If it's safe, how many days should I stop using hydroquinone before LHR and how many days after LHR should I continue using Hydroquinone again? Thanks in advance for the answer!!!

It is not recommended to get lasered while using hydroquinone. However IF YOU MUST use it, then , depending on wavelength used during your treatment, I would suggest not using it for 2-4 days prior and 2 days after treatment.

Thank you for the reply Romeo. The thing is my upper lips are has some hyperpigmentation and I am having it treated with HLR with Yag machine (I am type IV). So with hydroqionone the upper lips area can be lighter so that it's more effective for the LHR. The last time I remember it hurt so bad when I had my LHR.

Since you are using a Yag Machine, whether you use Hydroquinone or not will not effect the efficacy of your treatment. My suggestion is do not use it a few days before and use it only a few days after treatment. Please also advise your provider that you are using it so that they adjust their settings accordingly, if necessary.
