I am a little confused about after your first clearance?
So i always thought that once you achieve full clearance on an area, "which is treating all the hairs in that area in one sitting." you will only need touch up or maintenance treatments after that correct?

I am asking cause when i go for electrolysis every week, she totally clears my neck and cheek area every time i go in which i thought is full clearance?

By next week or two though i almost have full regrowth of the hair that was treated or the new hair that is replacing that previously treated hair?

pretty much what im saying is when you get full clearance on area should you see new hair growing in almost every follicle that has been treated within a week to two week span? or should you just have a few hairs that just pop up time to time that need touch up treatments?

I get full clearance every week i go in, but i feel within a week or two all the hair that has been treated is back. so i still have to go in every week. i thought once you get full clearance you don't have to go every week anymore and the healing time is quicker cause your treating less hair at a time. cause that not the case for me....?

For the first few months of electrolysis, it might seem as if "everything" is coming back when in fact that's just the next phase of hair growth which was previously dormant. However, it's equally possible that your treatment is just inadequate.

How long have you been having treatments? Being realistic (and allowing for the fact that not all electrologists are as amazing as Josefa, Dee and James, but this doesn't mean their work is useless either), I wouldn't panic if you still see a lot of hair returning after only a few months of treatment. HOWEVER, after about 4-5 months you should notice that the period of time taken to clear you diminishes, and you can go a little longer between appointments. If this isn't happening, then you might start to question your electrologist's skill.

As a point of reference: my upper arms took 4 hours to clear 11 months ago. Now, they take about 1.5 hours. I get on average one clearance every month. I still see new hairs popping up within 2 weeks of treatment, but much fewer than when I started, which gives me hope!

Oh, also, you should get your hormones checked in case they are causing new hairs to appear.

There can always be multiple hair roots emerging from a single pore, each hair having it's own growth cycle. In this case, it can seem as if the same hair is re-growing, when it is not actually the case.

The other situation is one of under-treatment, where the hair comes out, but the root/bulb remains largely intact. After a few days of recovery, the root generates new hair because it has not been completely destroyed.

Its just how do I determine this? I mean right now my neck area is completely clear! I got treatment yesterday. But by next week I will have a few hairs popping back out and in two weeks I will have full regrowth of hair or new hair?I have only been having electrolysis done for about 2 and half months now so it's hard to determine?

Hi. I am just new here, I've been reading some post and researching facts about laser hair removal so I'd have an idea and enough knowledge when I decide to give it a go but I also really wanted to seek advise if you know the best clinic around Heathrow area? If you can refer one that would be so great!! Thanks in advance and happy new year to y'all! Also would love to hear more about IPL and why and how it is different or similar with just laser? I'm kinda lost at that part but really would appreciate your input smile

The time needed for each full clearance should become successively smaller. Anyway i am surprised that full clearance shall be possible every two weeks; "visually full" regrowth of successfully epilated hair usually takes longer - for facial you might expect at least 6 weeks for "full" regrowth.

An example from my practice: the first clearance of one of my customers took 21 hours (dense and full male beard, thick, entirely white hair). More than two months later, the second clearance took just 9.5 hours.

Thats why i am asking cause that's exactly what i thought beat_r? It should take longer for the hair to grow back then only two weeks?

Here is my neck area that is completely cleared after my previous treatment 2 days ago. now if "you" were clearing this area, normally about how long before "you" would see regrowth and have clear this area again?
"right click on image and hit view image if you want a larger view"

I am going to post a picture in about 2 weeks to show you what my regrowth looks like also. cause im sure i will have it all back by then.

Full regrowth is just a little bit more than the time the hair needs to come back after pure mechanical plucking. If the hair ha been killed correctly (and even partly) it will usually come back in its forthcoming regrowth cycle - i.e. several *months* later. Regrowth in successfull electrology is the growth of new, formerly unepilated hair. It starts immediately after treatment in for of few very fine hair getting more and more intense over *several* weeks.

Just a question: Do You feel some kind of plucking? Or does the hair slide out smoothly?

If this acutally happens once a week over - let me count - 10? - treatments with "full" clearance and no improvement either in visible amount of hair or in time to achieve full clearance, i talk about that to Your electrologist and possibly try out another one. Then You have direkt comparison of two working approaches an can see who of the two is better suited for Your individual situation.

Dude believe me I had the same issue as you.
I did my genital hair and within two weeks I saw regrowth from the treated spots. I was like 'this ain't working'
But after a while you suddenly see reduction and from THAT moment on you will see reduction every time.
Do you have medditeranian blood? Looking at your skin you might....I have, and believe me we have a lot of multiple follicles....more hairs growing to a single pore....
So you might thing it's not working, but it is....As long as you see that shiny sheath around the hair when she pulls them out....

Yes! most of the time i feel no plucking sensation and the hair does slide out smoothly besides the couple stubborn ones and if so she just zaps the hair again. But not all of the hairs have the clear sheaths that everyone talks about which kind of worries me? they all have the little black ball thing at the end though so idk if thats a good thing.

And toeman, yes i am of Mediterranean decent so that could be it smirk
