Did you have scabbing, asanh? If you did, how long did it last? Did you report your healing outcome to your electrologist? My goal is NOT to have scabbing on the face. If there are pinpoint scabs in small quantity, that is acceptable.

Scabbing is not the same as scarring. I am not in agreement with other electrologists that dismiss prolonged scabbing on the face. It scares clients and puts them on excuse patrol with people they encounter in their social and work lives.

It is definetly a good idea to have electrolysis from a practitioner who specialises in it. Are there many in your area?

I wanted to add my own experiences with electrolysis here because this forum was invaluable to me when I was making my initial decisions whether or not to go with electrolysis. I am a female who has been getting electrolysis on my face for 5 months now. I had/have excessive (really excessive) thick, course, black hair all over my chin, cheeks, neck, and upper lip. Basically I had a full beard. It was terrible. The electrologist I found has been wonderful. I have seen close to a 50% reduction in hair now and I saw results immediately.

The first month or so was rough on my skin. I had pin point scabbing and a lot of redness. I would joke that my face looked like I had made love to a porcupine but over time my reaction is no where near as severe. For example, I just saw her this morning and my face is a tiny bit red and has the slightest bit of puffiness in a couple of areas but it will all be gone by tomorrow whereas before the redness and swelling would only be gone after a full week had passed. I've also gotten my routine down as far as what works for me (lots of water and lay off the alcohol).

This has literally changed my life. Before I started electrolysis I had stopped getting my hair cut and had stopped going to the dentist because I didn't want anyone that close to my face. Now, even though I still have a long way to go, so much of the hair is gone that my confidence is back and I feel like a human being again. Last month I got my first real hair cut in 4 years. I would encourage anyone in the same boat to do this for themselves.

YES!!! Electrolysis is the only method that actually removes hair permanently.
Laser (sometimes) reduces the hair, and Electrolysis permanently gets rid of the hair. Tried Tria Home Laser, and also Doctor's laser. Those 2 methods did not seem to help me at all. Maybe the Doctor's laser did a bit, but not
enough for the $$$ I spent.

I never heard about the Doctor's laser before. Is it a
product you can buy or did you mean you received laser from a doctor's office?

What area did you receive treatment for?

Continued success with that good, old, steady friend electrolysis. It really does work and you get what you pay for as long as the practitioner is skilled professional or a very good do-it-yourselfer ( probably not a word).

Hey all, I haven't been able to be on in a long time. I would like to share that I have had 2 beard clearances with James. I enjoy the reduction and how much easier shaving is. I also don't get a rash like before.
I still have a beard to rival Grizzly Adams, but it's better than it was for sure! J

Great job, James and congratulations, temp!. Was James using Synchro or Pico on your beard?
