A short time one of my clients reported she had been using Vaniqa to suppress facial hair growth. It had worked to her satisfaction for several years, but suddenly strong side effects occured: strong burning and redness. After stopping using vaniqa she suffers from massive excess hair growth - fine but already terminal hair (not of vellus type), and a few slightly thicker darker hairs thrown in. The hypertrichosis is really "impressive": in the regions of maximum density (cheeks) the hair density exceeds that of an average male beard.

Luckily the hair is fine and can be killed by electrolysis fast and with few side effects.

I'm glad that she will be doing electrolysis. Too bad money was not spent on electrolysis initially.

Such things happe if You visit a dermatologist because of a hair problem (at least in Germany): most recommend their laser regardless if the hair is light or they prescribe Vaniqua. Sometimes they do both at the same time: Vaniqa to support the laser epilation of fine blond hair.

Vaniqa is used here in conjunction with laser as well. Such an expensive route to take when a skilled electrologist can get going on those hair structures and thin out the most miserable hairs present.

Beate, do doctors in your area send any of their patients to you for electrolysis care?
