They made a business decision and partnered with Syneron for $4 or $6 billion or something like that. If they cared about the consumer, they would have had alexandrite and Yag lasers in the first place.
There are still some locations of this clinic that use their old LightSheer machines, which is a good diode. I wouldn’t dismiss it without calling the other locations around you.
If you do look for a completely new place, I would strongly advise you to spend money on the best out there this time around, which is an alexandrite machine like GentleLASE. You will see a huge difference.

And now looking my underarms and legs, are just in the same spot they were a few months ago. I hate to see my progress stop like this and become so disappointed.
They have definately lost a loyal customer of about three years…
Remember, corporations are charged with making the most money for the least investment, and returning the highest returns possible to their stockholders. They are not charged with doing the best work for the lowest price. See what has happened to washing machines for an example.
Well tomorrow I think I am calling a electrolysis for my last few hairs. I am going to have ALC just stop with my bikinni and face, since I have had over 22 X treatments.

I have been using Amrilight since May 2007, with mixed results. After 2 treatments I have no hair left on underarms and bikini, slower growth on chin and upper lip and a bit slower growth on lower legs.
While I agree ALC is not a reputable company and I wish I had known before signing the contract, the treatments seem to work. Does anyone know if this is a good sign? If it worked on my underarms, will it work on my legs? And will it last (in the sense of permanent reduction, like any other laser)?
Also, I have found on other chats that Amerilight is technically not a laser, but an IPL using radio frequency, with unproven efficacy. Finally, I found ALC under the complaints board website – there is a class action lawsuit being filed against them by consumers in few states. Let me know if you are interested and I will post all the info.
It works, but generally not as well as other machines might. Also, with IPLs, you often need more treatments. You’re too quick to judge at this point. I don’t know how long it’s been since your last treatment and how often you’re having treatments, but 2 is definitely nowhere near done. You will have more hair come in. You should be waiting 10 weeks or so between treatments to assess actual reduction, and even 12.
You can treat your legs. As long as they have coarse hair. The finer and lighter in color the hair and the darker your skin, the harder it will be to get results with an IPL. I would wait until you’re completely done with the treatments you’re having now, i.e. at least 6 treatments spaced 8-12 weeks apart, and then waiting 2-3 months to assess true reduction to sign up here for legs. I would also shop around for better prices. This chain is often on the high end of things for prices even though they make you pay in advance. You might be able to find a better clinic with a better machine at a better price for legs, which is a large and expensive area. Just shop around before you commit to anything.
