I find that strange. Maybe you need to go somewhere else that has it. I recently had my sister go to a consult at a clinic with the MPX. The reason I was encouraged is because they said Asian people (like ourselves) have a wide variety of skin tones and many can do blended treatment with the Alex, and this may need tailoring depending on the body area.
If you are normally type III, then there is even more reason to blend with the Alex.
