Yes, DIY’r, you are correct, this is the venerable hair removal device known in the feild as “The SS-69”, and it is a “regular thermolysis” device. It doesn’t have microflash on it, however, it is a perfectly good working item, that is even backed by the manufacturer. They will even set you up with an adaptor for the machine to use the newer probe holders, as the type this machine comes with are no longer manufactured.
The purchaser should be aware that a thermolysis only unit is not recommended for a starting DIY’r, but does work in the right hands. One should also be aware that contact with the maker can be established at www.instantron.com

The updated Tronco 4/SS-69, replaces crystals with computer board, and offers an auto sensor for insertion delay work. If you are a DIY’r, the auto sensor is a needed thing for speed. It is one less thing you will have to worry about.

Just to make this clear. The full name of this epilator is The Instantron Tronco 4 ss-69 Epilator. Tronco 4 = SS-69 and vice versa. It is a manual thermolysis machine that has timing and intensity controls. You tap the footswitch and the machine delivers the dose of treatment energy you dialed up on the stereo knobs.
It does not do blend, it does not do micro-flash. It is just a “slow thermolysis” machine.
Someone who knows what they are doing can do excellent work with this, although the new computerized epilators would be able to deliver permanent hair removal with less skill on the part of the practitioner, and would have less skin irritation.
