Blonde facial hair

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted and I’m just wondering if there is something new and exciting in the world of lasers to treat blonde facial hair. I had lightsheer done which unfortunately stimulated hair growth. I then tried electrolysis with two different people and after spending thousands of dollars (4 hours of treatments a week), I barely saw a difference. They both worked quickly but there is just way too much hair. I have plucked for hours and hours and hours on end and when I finished for the day, I barely saw a difference. I tried Vaniqa and also saw no improvement when using it for 6 months. My only hope to get rid of this much hair is laser. I also tried treatments with the Comet laser which is supposed to work on blonde hair but unfortunately it didn’t do anything for me.

no. unfortunately no new exciting developments for blond hair in terms of lasers yet. some claim it, but it’s BS. only electrolysis. were you using thermolysis electrolysis or the slower methods? are you male or female?

I’m female. One woman used blend?? method . . . I had to hold something to make the machine work. The other one used two different machines . . . not sure which ones. They both moved at a rapid pace. I forget the exact number but I think I counted about 5 hairs a minute.

Based on what you have said, you would have had 1200 hairs removed per session. Although I would have removed +/-2800 hairs in the same session, it seems to me that you would still say that you “saw no difference”

Just where are you looking to remove this hair from? How is it that you are plucking all day and “Not seeing any difference”?

Just as a point of reference, the average male beard removal client that I have requires 12,500 hairs or less to be removed from +/-25 square inches of skin for first clearance, and we get that done in 20 hours or less spread out over 2 to 4 days.

I really would like to know what type of hairs, and what area of the body you are talking about.

My hairs are blonde. I have no idea how long it takes for a hair to grow but it seem like if I pluck the area, a new one is growing the very next day. Maybe I have a lot more than 500 per sq inch. I’m not sure but the math doesn’t add up otherwise.

The hair grows from just under my eyes and covers my cheek area, jaw line and extends down onto my neck at least 2.5 inches from my jawline. I would say the laser caused the amount of hair to triple. It also changed it from fine hair to thicker, longer hair.

As well, the hair does not lay flat. I had a face lift and I guess the roots stay in the same area but the stretching of the skin caused the hairs to stand up. Not sure . . . just guessing the reason why they now stand up.

You see a new hair the next day as that is a hair that was on the way up, but had not broken the surface of the skin, OR it is a hair that was small enough to seem insignificant when next to the other hair, but now seems large in the absence of the hairs you plucked the day before.

In any event, clearing out faces is what I do best. I would bet that I could make even YOU see a difference if we were to have the pleasure of working together. The challenge you may be facing is the fact that most electrolysis offices are not set up to deal with your type of hairs. If the electrologist can’t see the follicle opening, and your hair is close to the same color of your skin, lack of high magnification and bright light (as what comes with Halogen lighting) would mean much less success. Since I have that stuff, and experience on this type of problem, I can say that it is possible to find satisfaction, although I don’t know who could get the job done near you. (or if anyone in your area could)

  • have you been to an endocrinologist? how old are you? this is a lot of hair to have, and though laser can stimulate more growth, this sounds like there is something else causing it, not just those laser treatments.

  • James is correct. Something doesn’t add up. At 4 hours a week, 5 hairs per minute, you should have definitely seen results unless you only did this once or twice.

  • As James said, if you’re seeing hair “return” the next day, it’s not the same hair unless it broke off at the surface and wasn’t actually completely plucked. follicles can’t produce new hair in one day.

  • it sounds like you need to find a good electrologist and get going with consistent treatments to get to your first clearance, and then come in as soon as you see new hair pop up. also, please make sure to check for underlying possibly hormonal imbalances that may be causing this in the first place.

  • you should stop plucking and switch to shaving. plucking is what can make your hair more coarse and more resistent to permanent removal.
