Bumps and red that take a week , normal or am i too heavy on the settings?

Hello professionals, advice please. I have a 65 yo trans female client who is complaining about redness lasting a week or so.
Average client settings are say 50 thermo 100ma galvanic, she requires 55/140 to remove those grey tree trunks. I have been working on her for about 6 months and gone as high as 60/150 with no complications or lasting redness.
Just lately she has had these red bumps hang around longer than 4 days, up to a week.
She uses prescription lidocaine23% tetracaine 7%.
At the end of her weekly 2 hour session i wipe her face with baby wipes and apply a lite lather of aloe vera gel.
Any advice apreciated thank you .

Are you starting to notice decreasing hair density or are you treating more sparsely? When the treated follicles are further apart, it can sometimes make red spots stand out because they’re isolated rather than in one big patch of red that covers the entire treatment area.

I also get the impression your client might have dry skin, which has an impact on skin healing and also the effectiveness of galvanic. You could try thermolysis only to see if it makes for a more comfortable treatment and also raise the topic of skincare to see if she’s using anything that helps skin hydration. I’m always surprised how many clients do hardly any skincare.

Aside from that, some redness is expected from large grey hairs anchored well in the follicle. They take more energy to remove, but it wouldn’t hurt to reevaluate your approach to make sure you’re going down to the right depth and at the right angle. The better your insertion, the less energy required, the less skin reaction post-treatment.

Hi Thermo , this client had so many hairs when she started, they were like 1mm apart yes and now they are becoming more sparse, I dont mow the lawn to speak i always do a face pass (not the upper lip) and i try and keep the trauma spread out and not in 1 spot. In saying this the client didn’t see any reduction for a long time but now its like wow, there is heaps less hair.
I will ask her about her skin care , check my approach and try thermo alike you suggest, I will also ask her to check her vitamins and such as i found out she is a vegetarian.
I appreciate your help thank you kindly
