considering hair removal of

all the hair around my vagina. im wondering if this is possible. i am just tired of shaving it. im not about to wax it. but im wondering a couple things. aprox how expensive am i looking at? i know its got to be done several times. i know it depends on amount of hair per whatever area but is there an aprox average id be looking at?

and im planning on trying for our 3rd child in 6 months. is it best to wait until i’ve had that child to have the removal done?

thanks!

oh and im 26, white, with dark hair, id say the hair is also course (though it never grows out much to tell as of the last couple years)

i dont know if this even matters.

Curious, why no waxing in the past? If it’s because of the pain, you should know that laser hair removal hurts too, although it’s over so fast, it’s really not a big deal.

This is a very common area to treat and gets good results. Coarse hair is good for laser. If you just want regular bikini, it costs around $100 per treatment and you need 6-8 treatments spaced 2-3 months apart. If you want more removed, it’ll be more expensive, around $150-250 depending on how much you want gone.

Since you need 6-8 treatments spaced 2-3 months apart, it’s up to you whether you want to start now or after your pregnancy. Each treatment removes a portion of the hair. You’ll be able to get in 2-3 beforehand, so you would see a reasonable reduction. You can restart after your pregnancy to finish up.

I personally only needed 6 treatments on this area for 95% removal.

it is because of the pain. i wax my eyebrows and thats prob a lot easier to handle then other areas. but if it were to lead to a permanent removal of the hair id take that pain.

the idea of doing some now and the rest later is a pretty good idea. even a 90% removal of the hair over all would be great. thanks for the pricing info. i do realize that it will vary. but having an idea actually helps. i dont want to walk in there totally clueless and then be shocked at the costs.

i really appreciate the info!

If you are going to go for laser (or electrolysis) now, don’t start waxing.

When you go to your laser consultation, ask about pain management. Some offer a topical anesthetic (mine does), or may let you use your own such as emla or lmx-4 cream. It will probably hurt (the more likely it is to work, the worse it may hurt), but it can be managed.

Bikini will take only about 7-10 mins to do and numbing creams are available if you’re really afraid of the pain. But I agree that the pain is worth it for permanent removal. It was one of the best things I’ve done for myself. Considering waxing costs, it isn’t expensive either.

Please make sure to read the FAQs here once you’re ready so you can pick the best clinic with the right machine for your skin type in your area.

If you start soon you will probably be able to have a full clearance before your pregnancy stops the treatments. There is no evidence that LHR would cause complications but most practitioners and insurance providers will not allow treatments after the 2nd trimester. Some may not treat at all while pregnant.
