I want to get laser hair removal done on my full body. I am a skin type II with light brown hair.

There are 2 laser hair removal places near my house. One uses a Cutera NG YAG and the other uses a Lumenis LightSheer. Which one is a better machine and would give me better results?

Also I am considering doing my facial hair as well and I been told that the LightSheer is the most effective machine when it comes to treating male facial hair. Is this true?

have you read the FAQs? the best laser type for you is Alexandrite type like GentleLASE. Also, your hair might be too light since it’s not dark brown or black. You definitely need to try one treatment on one area first and see if it has enough pigment for LHR to be effective. Also, the hair should be pretty coarse. This isn’t a miracle treatment. So you really need to do your research and sample a treatment before committing. Since your hair is on the lighter end, I wouldn’t recommend face treatments if you’re a male because you might get very patchy results.

p.s. lasers are not effective or not effective based on area treated. it depends on skin and hair type.

thanks for the helpful info. the problem is that i can not find any place that has the gentlelase in my area. also could you explain on how exactly can you tell if the laser you are being treated wth is working on you after only one treatment?

have you tried going to Candela Corporation’s website and using their provider search? Try that. Also, you didn’t include your location.

If all treated hair sheds 3 weeks after the treatment, it has enough pigment to be affected by laser. That’s how you can tell.
