I’m trying to better understand the practical difference between diode laser and IPL hair removal from a clinic point of view.
On paper, diode laser seems more focused for hair reduction, while IPL is broader and can be used for different skin or cosmetic treatments depending on the system. But in real clinic use, I’m not sure the choice is always that simple.
For example, I imagine factors like client skin types, hair types, treatment comfort, cooling, operator training, maintenance, and how easy it is to explain expectations to clients all matter a lot. A machine may look good in a demo, but that does not always tell you how it performs after months of regular appointments.
For clinics or salons that have used both diode and IPL, which one has been more practical in daily use? Was one easier to explain to clients, easier to train staff on, or more reliable over time?
