first consult

It can vary, but usually you are back to normal within three to seven days.

Did she use the Silhouet-Tone VMC model? The outer case is a light blue color. The VMC is an excellent epilator. She could adjust the levels so it doesn’t hurt as much. If she has the VMC model, she can do microflash thermolysis. More of my clients tell me they like the faster forms of electrolysis much better than blend because they offer less sensation. She can make the blend more comfortable by going lower with the intensity and increasing the timing. She will remove less hairs per hour, but she will still “kill the hair”. A good microflash or picoflash thermolysis practitioner with the best epilators available today could speed along on your chin nicely, but you have to fall in line with what your electrologist understands and feels comfortable with at the moment.

Thanks for that information in your signature, by the way!

Not sure what the model is. It looks older, it’s grey and the two little screens have red digital readings.

Sounds like an Instantron Elite Spectrum or some such model.

Yes, it looks a little like that one. But I’m pretty sure it said Silhouet-Tone on the bottom right on the machine.

Good news, day two and no swelling and no scabbing

So, consult #3. Went very well. She’s a CPE as well a member of the AAPE (the local association of prof. elec.)

She uses thermolysis, She checked out the area, explained everything as she went along. She cleaned the area she was going to treat - she was quite fast, efficient and the pain level was way less than my other two consults.

She talked about aftercare (which others didn’t), she explained all the hair cycles, the length of time I’ll need treatments - depending how I want to proceed. She recommends I start coming once a week - 30 minutes to start she said I shouldn’t need more time than that since the hairs I have right now are pretty sparse.

All in all I had a good feeling about the place. She’s seems honest and to the point.

The only thing I didn’t like, she didn’t use gloves - did however wash her hands before she started. I asked her about that and she said she doesn’t wear them normally, however will if the client requests it. Something I would request if I make another appointment.

Keep you posted!

Oh, pink and a little warm/tingly - subsiding.

This sounds good! Oh, the advantages of one checking out as many electrologists in their area as possible. See why we strongly urge people to interview and get sample treatments from as many electrologists as possible?

The glove issue: she did wash her hands, so that is good. I would prefer gloves for my treatment, but she didn’t commit a mortal sin by not wearing gloves. Her hands were washed

As an electrologist, I wear gloves for my protection mainly.

That epilator sounds familiar, it is probably a Silhouet-Tone Blend 128
