I have been looking and looking for affordable LHR. I finally find a fantastic deal. ($3000 for face, arms, underarms, legs and brazilian x 7 treatments) HOWEVER…all he has are GentleYag lasers. I am between a II and a III (very dark hair, lots of freckles (sun damage), sometimes burn but holds tan through season). I need to know if this laser will work for me. I also have PCOS and through meds my hormones are normal (finally) and I need to clean up this hairy mess. LOL The hair I am treating is mostly coarse and dark.
We strongly recommend for you not to sign up for any committments like this even if the deal seems great when buying many areas. You will save money in the long run by starting out with one smaller area first and seeing how results go after a few treatments. You can always add other areas and businesses want your money enough to be competitive. I don’t recommend jumping into something like this without making sure for a fact that they know how to operate their machine to get you results, which you won’t know until you’ve had at least 3-4 treatments on any one area.
Do you have very coarse hair on all of the areas you mentioned? Laser only works best on coarse hair, especially a Yag.
GentleYAG is a good laser and can be used on lighter skin like yours. It’s basically just as effective on very coarse hair in good hands, i.e at good settings. The problem comes in when the hair gets finer after a few treatments, at which point it will have a hard time targetting it. However, for a good price, it would be worth it. I just wouldn’t recommend investing such a large amount into something that you don’t know will work for sure yet.
Yes, I guess, without seeing you, that thick hairs can mean the same as coarse hairin your case. Your husband’s thick hair could be described as very coarse.
The laser technician would be able to determine if you are a good candidate based on the structure of your hair, not to mention the color of your hair and skin.
