Help/Advice Needed!

sand,

  • shaving in between electrolysis treatments is best. you can bleach as well, just don’t do it a few days before and a few days after because it does irritate the skin.

  • you don’t need to wait for all the hair to grow in. it’s actually best to go in as soon as hairs come in so you can kill them while they’re weak. you should concentrate on that approach. going in as often as possible to keep the area consistently free of any hair.

  • are you considering laser on the same area or on a different area? there is no point of doing laser on the same area, plus it’s not a good idea for most people to do laser on the face. and no, lasers have been around for 10 years now for LHR purposes, and all studies indicate that they’re completely safe. They don’t produce any harmful radiation and don’t penetrate deep enough to cause any internal damage. There are absolutely not side effects granted you are being treated by a professional who knows what they’re doing, just like with electrolysis and anything else. I would know. I’ve had both done. Please read the FAQ on laser under the link below. However, like I said above, if you’re considering it on the same area you’re getting electrolysis, it’s not a good idea and counterproductive. Laser is best on coarse dark dense hair and light skin.

Hi everyone.

I was considering laser for my arm pits and bikini area.

I have a question about full clearance. I don’t understand when people state that is takes ______ amount of time for you to achieve full clearance.

Is full clearance when the area of skin is completely free of hair?
Or is full clearance when you’ve treated every hair at least one time?
Also, shouldn’t you be getting full clearance every time, even the first time you have a treatment?

I do have an excess hair problem, but I do not have a hormonal imbalance. Most of the hair on my body(stomach, back), that bothers me, is thin, dark and long…Anyway, my question is would I be able to fit sideburns(thick), chin(thin and thick), nipples, lower back(thin), and stomach(thin) in a 1 hour treatment with a skilled electrologist? If not the first time, would I be able to fit that many body parts in 1 hour after a couple treatments to all areas
?

Thanks everyone.

so should i wait for my next treatment as soon as a couple of hairs grown in on the body parts mentioned or wait until so much hair grows for a 30 minute session?

i wouldn’t go for 5 hairs, but if you have 30-50, I would. You basically don’t want to let any of the hairs grow for more than 2 weeks or so after they first show up.

Full clearance means that after you leave your appointment, you have no hair left to treat on the area you’re treating. For small areas, that can happen often, but for larger areas, it takes several treatments to get to the first clearance, after which you come in as soon as hairs show up to maintain the clearance.
