How does the pain compare to laser?

Thanks you.

This depends on the strategy of the electrologist.
Look at the first picture. You see the hairs are very, very long. Means that the area has not been touched for a long time (no shaving, wax or other things). Most existing hairs in the area, were on the surface of the skin (all hairs will never be all at once, because some have fallen old as in the head).
Now look at the second picture, ALL the hairs were treated.

And now look at the third picture, most of the hairs were removed during the first clearance. The results are spectacular if you follow this strategy.

In other words, you can choose between 12 clearances of 5 minutes or 1 clearance of 60 minutes. The results are the same but you will not see until you make 12 visits to your electrologist.

The fastest way to be DONE with electrolysis is by getting your clearance as soon as possible when you start. If that means you go in for 3-hour treatments, twice a week, then do that. Once clearance is achieved, you only need to come in once every 3-4 weeks to CLEAR the area each time. If you do this schedule, you’ll be done in 12-18 months. You can clip hairs during those 3-4 weeks if necessary.

Basically, as long as you come in to kill hair while it’s still in the first anagen phase of growth, you are good. You just don’t want to wait too long to treat any one hair, which could happen if you don’t get clearances each time.

More than 15 years ago was scientifically proven to act in the anagen phase is not necessary to kill the hair.[color:#000000] [size:14pt]ALL THE ELEMENTS NEEDED TO PRODUCE THE HAIR ARE PRESENT IN ALL PHASES. Also this has been shown by other electrologists.

You can return to the second clearance when you want, 3 to 4 weeks, 3 to 4 months or 3 to 4 years. The % removal of the first clearance is IRREVERSIBLE.

If you begin treatment with many hairs visible, you have 3 or 4 months ahead and the treatment will last 9 months.

Are all hairs cleared dead for good? Or do some have to be re-treated?

Ideally speaking, each hair treated needs only ONE treatment. However, the hair you have today is not the hair you will see, that APPEARS to be in the same place 6 months from now, and so on. This is why one has to retreat the same areas many times over the course of 9 to 24 months.

So the short answer to your question is, yes, all hairs treated dead and gone. The complicated answer is that one perfect treatment will still not have you hairless for the rest of your life. At this point, nothing even tries to scam people into thinking it could do that.

If they were treated properly, then yes. Also, most electrologists only claim to be able to kill hair at a good rate in anagen. That’s when it’s EASIEST killed anyway.

In a perfect world, every treated hair is killed for good and you’re constantly only treating NEW hair as it cycles. Of course, no one is perfect.

Some hairs may need to be broken down and they may be back in 6-16 weeks as regrowth. A percentage of hairs can be zapped and are gone for good with one proper treatment. Frustration comes about because neither the client or the electrologist has control over HAIR GROWTH CYCLES! That is why you need to be patient for 9-18 months on average, but certain cases may need more time due to various factors.

Thanks everyone for your answers, they definitely helped clear things up for me.

I am going to stop plucking the area I want to treat so I can go do a consult/treatment. How long should I wait after I stop plucking to go get a treatment? Does a history of plucking make a difference in treatment time?

One more question, before I forget- I was browsing the website of the electrologist that was recommended to me here and they had Retin-A and Accutane as contra-indicated… why is that so? I am on Retin-A. :frowning:

Thanks.

I agree, no one is perfect. However, there are techniques that if properly applied are very close to perfection, is the case of Electrolysis.

Nothing in this IMPERFECT world achieves these results in a single treatment…

Retin A makes skin more sensitive.

As long as some of the hairs are visible and long enough to be grasped with tweezers, you can get a sample treatment.

In a perfect world, the client should expect about 4 months to start treatment.

BEFORE

FIRST CLEARANCE COMPLETED…

3 MONTHS LATER…

On June 4, 2010 my partner and I made a video to show the technique of Electrolysis to a friend in Argentina. There were 4 short films of one minute each, and we chose 1 of them to upload to YouTube. The guy who volunteered to work in our humble project, has agreed this time to be photographed to check the results of those 4 minutes of Electrolysis.

The area never again received any thing (waxing or shaving). So these are the results of the only clearance of the area, 5 ½ months later.

Oh no! I think that video scared me a little more! :o
I’m a needle phobic and just watching that made me queasy!

But thanks for all your insight, I wish I could be your client!

Oh I would be happy to serve you! but, thank God, you live in a country full of good professionals with a long history of success. The best school in Spain in Electrolysis was founded (I think) by a disciple of Mr. Hinkel, Ms. Simin.

As for your phobia of needles, this is understandable, who is not afraid of needles? what we have to consider is the size of the needles. Let’s use the example of the cactus.

A thorn of a cactus Muscula Rebutia is not the same as a thorn Barbata Mammillaria. Your body has 5 million tiny holes through which a bone Rebutia can enter and you do not you’d even notice. The same applies to Electrolysis needles, they go into your holes (follicles) while you feel [size:14pt] NOTHING!
