How to know for sure!

Hi … It is a real pleasure to have a forum like that…
Here my question. I’am female Caucasian, Skin Type 3.5
Been to first traitement for a full bikini (dark and medium coarse hair)
LAser: lightSheer ET
Patch test underarm : redness at 29 joules
Technic used: up and down with pressure.
So the technician tell me that she gonna begin traitment at 26 joules for not "changing " the color nor burning my pale honey skin…
She use 100 ms for the more brownish skin and AUTO setting for the paler skin…
She tell me that she is going to incrase to 29 joules next appointment and always incrasing 3 joules at each new traitment…
My skin didn’t turn red after the Traitment no burn whatsoever…
My question is : should i ask her tu incrase even more the power (to what …i dunno say 36 joules???) and if yes … do i have great deal of chance changing the color of my skin permanently?

It’s impossible for us to answer this. They’re the ones who can see you in person and who can test various settings on your skin to see what your skin can handle safely. 100ms is pretty high, but maybe your skin is actually that dark. No way to tell over the internet.

Thanks lagirl I underdtand…
Is it possible that those settings (26 joules, 29 J then 32J,35… etc) all done in 100ms (on the dark area) spaced 10-12 weeks CAN give the permanent reduction i looking for???

It’s possible. Though if they have to use 100ms, you may be better off using a good Yag laser like GentleYAG instead (which has an 18mm spot size and goes down to 3ms). I wouldn’t get treated at anything under 20-30ms or so myself. And if your skin can’t handle that, I would switch to a good Yag.

thanks lagirl
