This is my first time here and I’ve spent hours reading but I’ve noticed that a lot of people that post messages here are professionals on hair removal, if you are one of those, please DO NOT reply. I would like to know the experiences from real people who have actually EXPERIENCED “PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL”, to be exact: laser, electrolysis and home electrolysis devices. I’m trying to choose between them and ONLY if you’ve been through that (the whole process, NOT in the middle of it), I would like to know:
Are you satisfied with the results? Give me a percentage on how much hair do you think was permanently removed? (I know there is no 100% permanent removal)
How much did it cost you and in what areas were you treated? Did you end paying more than they said they’d charge you?
How long did it take for the whole process, how many treatments did you needed?
this has already been answered and discussed and these people already repeat the same information over and over. i doubt they will all come here within a short time and do this for you, so i would suggest using the search function and looking through posts by RC2001, NoHair, hairlessinla, mine, etc. we’ve all written this out many times over already. you can do the same in the electrolysis forum. also, the only professional who posts on the laser forum somewhat regularly here is sslhr. Everyone else has had treatments themselves. You also have to understand that people who have had treatments and are done are not coming here (either laser or electrolysis) everyday to answer these types of questions. this is not an issue for them and they moved on now.
Ok. Here’s mine since I’ve had success with both laser and electrolysis:
Satisfied with both laser (GentleLASE alex, one of the best on the market, for light skin) and electrolysis (a few blend treatments, but the rest thermolysis and microflash). Bikini and underarms, 95% removed with laser after 5-6 treatments, type II skin, black coarse hair. Abdomen, 40% removed with laser, mostly of the coarse hair, after 4 treatments. Stopped laser treatments on that area and switched to electrolysis since hair remaining was too fine. At this point, finishing up electrolysis (thermolysis/microflash), about 85% removed permanently it looks like. Electrolysis finished on nipple and upper lip, thermolysis/microflash, took about 10-12 months. Now doing electrolysis on 5% remaining fine sparse hairs on underarms and bikini, and abdomen. About 3/4 done with electrolysis on eyebrows, probably 70% removed.
Laser cost me around $1500 for bikini, underarms, and abdomen (before I switched to electrolysis). Money very well spent I believe. I didn’t prepay for treatments and no promises were made, and I value this approach as everyone is different. Electrolysis cost me at this point around $1800 (abdomen + chestbone, underarms, bikini after laser; upper lip, eyebrows, nipples from scratch)
5 underarm, 6 bikini treatments with laser. 4 laser treatments on abdomen. Took about 10-12 months (spaced 8-12 weeks apart). Nipples about 12 months with electrolysis, upper lip only 8 months (6-8 treatments since I never touched it before), still working on eyebrows (it’s been about 5-6 months), abdomen (about 8 months). Pretty much done with underarms clearance after laser.
Used the GentleLASE alex laser. Best on the market for light skin, type I-III. I’m a type II. Best on coarse hair.
Type II skin, black hair, varies in coarseness depending on the area. Bikini and underarms, and nipple coarse (“was” I should say); abdomen, upper lip fine. eyebrow avg.
I disagree with you when you say that sslhr is the only professional who post messages here.
It is obvious that most professionals have had treatments themselves. So, let me rephrase it for you: I’m looking for consumers responses ONLY, not professionals who are or have been consumers.
I also disagree when you say that people who are done with their treatments don’t come back to these forums, so far I’ve got responses from them in other areas of hairtell forums.
I’m just pointing out the obvious to you. I’ve been reading the forums and participating here for 2 years. I’m speaking from experience. The only LASER professional who somewhat regularly posts here is sslhr right now. there are a lot more electrolysis professionals on that part of the forum, but you posted this here in the LHR forum and that’s what I’m referring to. I provided you with the names of people who ARE consumers and have posted their stories numerous times so you can use the search feature and find their stories as they do not come here often enough or have enough time to repost the same thing for every new person like you who comes here in search of the same information.
Bottom line: as you can see, there are no responses to your post and I think the reasons are obvious. All I tried to do is HELP you get answers to your questions by pointing you in the right direction to actually find what you’re looking for. You’re welcome (also for posting my story here and on the electrolysis part of the forum for you) and good luck.
Btw, besides the fact that you should be respectful of anyone who takes their time to reply to your posts, if you actually understand what you’re reading, you would see that I am a consumer, not a professional, who just helps out people like yourself (although not usually as presumptious, unappreciative and selfish) since I’ve done a lot of research and got results. Don’t be so quick to assume and jump to conclusions if you haven’t taken the time to read and do the research here.
