I havent experienced such a thing with alexandrite but after having yag on my face, i saw that my chin is swollen and it looks like a butt in shape. also there are some yellow things I dont know how they are called in english but they are bumps filled with water and when I touch them they dont feel like the rest of my skin. some of these bumps are a little big and they also look and feel like somebody poured some kind of a glue on my face. what shall i do ? how long will they take to heal?
Doesn’t really sound normal… Take a picture and let the experts on here have a look.
today i called the practitioner to ask about it. by the way she told me after laser that it could happen because my beard is very dense and strong. this morning she told me to apply a cream named advantan(I think) it should go down within 3 days but I dont think that it will. when I move my chin it feels strange and it looks like I got hit in the face, although it is not purple. I think lagirl can give me an advice?
my chin is going down, yes, but there are a lot of blisters on my face, I think they are called blood blisters since some of them are red and at night, some of them leak water which wake me up. i think they are to stay for weeks… I look hideous. Great.
you should post a picture so the experts can have a look and determine if it is a normal reaction or a mistake on the part of your practitioner, you dont have to include your whole face just the lasered section.
Usually, some men have irritation and some swelling if the hair is very dense and coarse, but if you had treatments with an alex on the same area without this side effect, that means that the settings used on the Yag were just too high. Blisters mean that you were burned.
sadly, i dont have a camera.
the doctor gave me antibiotics called augmentin, a cream called bactroban and an anti ceptic. he said that my face got infected. i am using these for a while now, the blisters are falling off. but one or two of them left a bright red mark on my skin. will these heal those red marks too? because one of them happened while i was cleaning my skin, i removed a scab accidentally and underneath of it was bright red skin (not pink). I am sorry to bother you with this guys but I dont feel well right now because of this. if these red marks don’t heal, what can you suggest me to do to fade them completely?
You might want to run that question by the doctor who can see you. Since this is the internet and we can’t see you, it is best not to make suggestions. Even if we could see you, it is still wise, in your case, to stay within the realm of your locale doctor.
continue following your doctor’s advice. everything goes away completely for most people, so you should be fine. it may take a month or more for it to clear up completely.
sorry to bother you again on this manner. my dermatologist’s office offers laser service and those blisters happened by the practitioner who works there. so i feel like the dermatologist is holding out on me because of this incident. he recently said that i have loss of tissue on my chin. There blisters are gone now except for one big one but it is turning into a scab(finally). the other ones left red pits. Yes, pits like acne scars. I am in no position to pay for another dermatologist right now and you are the only consultant that i have right now. so will those pits go away? if I get pink spots after everything is healed up, how can i make them go away? please answer as best as you can.
a picture is worth a thousand words. if you can take one and post it here, sslhr who’s a physician should be able to help.
We are not doctors here. Call the office and ask to speak to the office administrator and insist that the dermatologist see you asap. Take pictures even if you have to borrow a camera. You might need those pictures in the future. Yes, and you can post them here. Maybe sslhr could give you advice, but you have a doctor. Make him/her accountable to your questions.
Lagirl already said that most skin manifestations subside with time. We cannot possibly diagnose you as an individual and offer you medical treatment. I hope you understand what I’m saying here and why I am encouraging you to be aggressive with the physician responsible.

If you have “pits” that is not a good thing. It sounds like the blisters were pretty deep.
There are some things that can be done to reduce any long term sequalae (fancy term for long term results). But they need to be started as soon as possible. I’m sure that someone you know has a camera you can borrow. Get some pictures taken and I can offer some better advice.
But the best advice is to go back to the doctor and insist that he deals with the complication. I believe it is his responsibility.

the most serious looking wound is the pit. the other one is healing.
so, what are my options? i cant live with this pit. thanks in advance.
The good news is that most of these things can heal up over time. The bad news is it is you who has to deal with the healing care and time till it fills in (if it ever does).
a question about these burns…
it seems that in this country, no one that has a doctor’s licence is a real doctor. gonna see 3 more on friday. one of them is a plastic surgeon.
now, you people have more experience with those things than any other doctor i can find here. that pit has turned into a hypertrophic scar. it is raised a little and looks brownish/pinkish.
also, the red ones are gone but i still have some redness under my skin. if you look closely, you can see that there is something wrong with the skin’s appearance. it looks deformed. also it is a little sunken.
i was told to apply a topical steroid cream named dermovate which contains 0.05% clobetasol propionate. also, it has been 4 months. i have had 5-6 red leds and will continue to have them in the following weeks.
what i am asking is how effective is that cream on these kinds of wounds? also, in these cases, do hypertrophic scars dissolve on their owns or do they need another type of treatment?
i am just asking for your opinions, i know you are not doctors and there is only a little you can say without seeing it, but i believe you have heard or seen such cases.
thanks in advance.
by the way, no hair grows on the red parts, but there is hair growing on the hypertrophic scar.
thanks for not answering as it seems i am in need of plastic surgery. i am glad that the surgeon agreed to do everything necessary for free.
We don’t want to appear unresponsive, but many things are just taking shots in the dark without seeing the person in person. Some things can be discussed with a simple picture, but others, only an in person can offer enough information to comment on.
Good Luck
most of us are not qualified to make a call on this type of thing, especially without any pictures. we wouldn’t want to guess and mislead you. if you want a relatively knowledgeable answer to this specific question, i would advise you to take a picture and send it to SSLHR on this forum.
