I’ve had 4 sessions of candella gentlelase on the brazilian area and have had great results. My last session was on 15th december 07.
I have now got some regrowth appear and need to have another session.
My problem is that I have moved states (in Australia) and this state doesnt allow lasers to be used in hair removal clinics.
So it looks like I will have to have Ipl instead.
Does this work or could I have problems. I hate the thought of undoing all the good work I have had done so far.
They allow IPLs but not true lasers to be used for hair removal? This doesn’t really make sense. Where did you get this information? Can you post a link? Is this something you were told by a clinic that uses an IPL machine?
Also, what are your IPL options? There are various models, some better than others. Of course, tech’s experience matters as well. You won’t undo anything, but you may not get the rest removed permanently if the treatments are not effective.
Btw, if you can, please do recommend the clinic where you did get results for others from Australia.
I went to neoskin in south melbourne where they use gentlelase.
The settings were 18/16/40, whatever that means.
I asked if they had clinics in brisbane, they said no as to use the gentlelase in qld you have to be a registered doctor. or operate on under their name. ie: anyone can operate one but have to be in the doctors room. because of this you may find one but it would be realy expensive and most probably in cosmetic surgery clinics.
I have googled gentlelase and theres nothing in brisbane.
So i have to find an ipl/spl or go to the expence of flying back to melbourne.
I have found two places that do this one uses a luminex and the other i dont know yet but they are an australian franchise named hairfree.
That’s odd. I would assume that if they restrict it to doctors, it would apply to lasers and IPLs just the same as the risks are the same. There are some states in the US that only allow doctors to perform it as well, such as New Jersey. Interesting info.
If I had to choose an IPL for treatment (if you cannot go back to get treated with GentleLASE once every 2-3 months), I would go with a Palomar system.
