I finished all 6 laser treatments 6 weeks ago. iv had what i think are good/average results. I paid for another treatment which i was going to use in 6 months or so.
I went for my review for how it went on saturday. The therapist then decided i should be test patched for my next one and then have the treatment 2 weeks later. I was unsure because as i thought i had no more treatments soon i had been tanning. She asked when i last tanned and i said 2 weeks ago, i showed her my tan line and she said it should be ok.
My leg, underarm and arm had no reaction but my naval pubis went bright red and has now gone a dark purpley red colour.
Im really concerned about getting a scar and i dont want to go back in two weeks because she’ll just say ‘‘its because you had a tan’’ then why do it!?!
should i complain? or will they say it was my fault?
This is a slight superficial burn. It won’t leave a scar. Just treat it as any other burn. It will go away.
Yes, it’s technically their fault for setting the settings too high for your skin color.
Is any of the remaining hair coarse? Laser only works on dense coarse growth. I would assume after 6 treatments, you don’t have any coarse hair remaining, so the rest needs to be removed with electrolysis.
Many clinics just aren’t as knowledgeable as they should be. So unfortunately, it happens often.
You should wait about 10-12 weeks and see what grows in at that point. If the hair is still fine, there is no point of having more treatments. Electrolysis is the only solution for finer hair.
