have you read about this company on the forum? there are no positive reviews. that should tell you something.

I don’t think “discount” and “laser hair removal” should ever be mentioned together. Very much along the lines of “discount heart surgery” or “discount seatbelts.”

Discounts, low prices, high prices… Price does not correlate to good or bad service in hair removal. I know this as an insider who has worked in the industry for nearly 2 decades.

Readers of HairTell at least have an opportunity to do plenty of research which could help them find great service at reasonable prices.

I’ve been going to ALC for 3 treatments, I have to admit the only negative comment is that they are so busy all the time, and booking an appointment is always a problem,so If you are a busy person as well, that would be a major issue.I also recieved a very good discount, I got my lower back, buttocks, bikni extnded for $1500 (6 treatments-and 2 year guarantee), I went there when they had the end of month promo. But again keep in mind , when I wanted to reschdual my appointment I had to wait a month an half before they had an opening.

roma18, I thought you weren’t seeing very good results from your treatments?

I agree with Arlene. Discounts shouldn’t play in your search for a good clinic. Prices vary so much, that you can most definitely find another clinic usually that offers a lower price without any specials. Plus, I don’t think anyone here would want to spend $500 less on a treatment that wasn’t effective and requires purchasing and going through another set of treatments elsewhere (meaning overall more expensive and terms of both time and money). Expertise should be top priority, period.

I’ve been seeing reduction slowly. The thing is I don’t think Laser works on me very good.I’ve been getting my stomach and legs done at other clinics and so far nothing on my leg, and abit reduction on my stomach. But so far I’m happy with my bikinni line.

I don’t think it’s laser in general, judging from your other posts. It’s a combination of the machine they’re using (not the best available out there) and operators who are not setting the settings at the most effective levels. However, that price is relatively cheap, so of course you should finish treatments here and see what you get for the money. As long as you realize that you’re not using the best equipment, so you will not get the very best results possible with laser in general.

The way many of these places operate is that they are very aggressive in selling packages and then they book that sale as income when they make the sale. And that second part is the most important. What that means is that they make their income when they sell you the package, not when they provide the service. In fact, the best thing that could happen is for you to get run over by a bus, because they wouldn’t have to provide you with any service. And that service costs money.

They control their costs by not having as many lasers or technicians which is why you have a month and half wait for an opening. If on the other hand, they only made money when you come in for the treatment, I can promise you that they would find space for you on their schedule.

Another way to look at it is this way, they can sell far more packages than they have slots to deliver because they have a contract that you sign saying you can’t get you money back for any reason. Sure, if they sell more than they have slots, they will eventually provide the service. Eventually. If they don’t quit and go out of business first.
