i have done sooo much research to figure out whether electrolysis or laser hair removal will work best on me … but im still not sure.
I have type III skin and black hair. I have a lot of hair on my face but the hair is fairly thin. I have read that laser does not work well on thin hair and can even make the hair grow back thicker. Is this true?? What do you think is the better way to remove hair on the face…laser or electrolysis?
If it’s on your face and generally a small area, I’d go with electrolysis but make sure you go to a good one. If they are going to work on your face you don’t want any scarring. Type 3 skin is pretty dark for laser, but can definitely still be done at least with a YAG laser. Many people have reported scarring with laser too, although I really don’t know how this occurs. I had many many laser treatments and I think you’d have to really find a moron laser tech to scar you with laser.
If you have a large area, try laser (lightsheer if you can) first. If that doesn’t work, electrolysis.
If you have a small area, might as well just go electrolysis, it won’t be much more expensive anyway IMO
i would start with electrolysis right away if I were you. There is a good chance laser won’t work very well on your type of hair or will only work on the most coarse hairs and you will still need electrolysis on everything else. plus, there IS a chance of stimulating finer growth to become darker. i would read the electrolysis section of this forum and start your search for a good electrolysis. it’s the best way for a women’s face unless you have pretty dense coarse growth there.
