Laser Perfect

Laser Perfect, Does anyone have experiance with this laser chain. Thinking about purchasing treatments and would appreciate any knowledge of their services. Success stories. Complaints.

  1. have you tried the search feature?

  2. how many clinics have you sampled, both private and chains?

  3. what is your skin and hair type? what type of laser do they use? do you know which type is best for you? it’s not all about the clinic. it worries me that you might have not done enough research to make a good decision about where to be treated.

I am currently on my “warranty” period at LP in DFW. I have posted some of my experience, so you can search for Laser Perfect or my name to read that info. Otherwise, you can provide some background on you (as LAGirl requested) so we can give you information tailored to your needs. Also, PM me if you wish…

I have fair skin when not tanned. I am loosing tan now. Still have some left. Med. Brown hair darker than current skin color. Scheduled for early March 1st treatment. Full Brazilean male bikini. I have researched till my head spins. Now it seems the more research I do the more varied the answers get. Was told by American Laser Center that they can laser away any hair or skin type. Others say that is not true. I don’t know what to think.

the main advice i can provide you is not to be too trusting of anyone who has a motive to tell you what you want to hear. (i.e. what you experienced at Amer. Laser Center). It’s a sales pitch and they’re looking for your money. I say anywhere you go which feels like a sales pitch you should leave immediately as they obviously have THEIR needs in mind, not yours.

Have you gone to any private clinics for consultations? Have you read the FAQs? Do you knwo which laser is best for your skin type? Those are the things that you should look into first. I’m not sure what research you have done, but from these posts at least it sounds like you only looked at popular chain clinics that advertise. I recommend you go to Candela website and run a provider search for a GentleLASE laser (best for your skin type) to find clinics that have it near you. Where are you located? There might be recommendations here.

lagirl, I want to thank you for your help. Regarding the fitzpatrick scale of skin type I am still confused. If I have not been in the sun for awhile I can burn or even blister easily leading to peeling. This would suggest maybe type II or III. However if careful my first couple of times in the sun I can get a very deep dark tan, suggesting maybe type IIII. I have not been in the sun since mid september yet I still have more tan than some people can ever get. For example, my last time out was Sept. 20th and 21st I laid poolside for about 8 hours each day in 100* heat in Pheonix Az. I had a good tan base and went home very dark with no burn using no sunblock. But if I wait long enough, getting close now, I will return to pale white skin. I spoke with laser perfect again today but was a noisy connection, I believe he said they use a diode lightsheer laser. Do you think this will be ok. In reading from shorelaser.com website they talk of all types and it sounds like this should work for me. Any more help you can offer is greatly appreciated. My hair color in bikini area is med. brown not real sure on backside of bikini area, I can’t see well in mirror. Tan is fading away all over though and should be gone altogether by time of second treatment. And yes, I do tan in the nude to answer that question. Thanks lagirl, look forward to hearing from you again. you seem to have more knowledge in this area than anyone else I’ve talked to. Togolf1

you sound like a type III. I would wait until your tan fades almost completely before starting treatments to get the most out of them. Try this site to find GentleLASE places near you http://www.candelalaser.com/patients/index.cfm?task=practSearch
Just type in your zip and choose GentleLASE for the machine. Phoenix should have a bunch.

You can try this as well: http://www.asds.net/find.html

LightSheer can be good too, but it’s harder to operate, and many people who have it don’t know how to set the settings right to get you results. I would only go to someone using this if they are very experienced. That means asking what settings they’re planning to use (joules, spot size, and pulse). Bikini usually responds well to laser treatments.
