Not shedding, but not growing either

I had my second laser treatment on the bikini area almost two weeks ago. I’ve noticed some shedding and some pepperspots, but for the most part hair didn’t seem to “grow” out. Is this normal?

have you tried pulling on the hair. do they easily slide out? are you shaving it?

The chemical processes (enzymes, proteins, subcellular components) have been stunted, basically, damaged or disrupted. If it’s been two weeks, the hair probably didn’t die. It may repair itself and begin growing again when the next anagen cycle kicks in. How much money have you gave them so far?

No, I haven’t shaved since before my laser treatment. The few hairs that continued to “grow” came out when I pulled on them, but for the other hairs, it’s as if the laser “stopped them in their tracks”.

so they don’t slide out if you tag on them?

That happens to me as well. The laser didnt kill the hair and it will eventually grow out as if it was shaven (which it was prior to treatment).

lagirl - there isn’t really anything to tag.

Adam4567 - roughly how long did it take for the hair to grow out?

Thanks

Well last time this happened to me, it was pretty much evident within the first few days that those hairs won’t “shed”. It’s very easy to tell the difference. So I actually went back to get that area treated, therefore killing the hairs.
The hair that I left alone began to grow about three weeks after the initial treatment. (but did not fall out)
I don’t really understand why it happens. It usually happens on my upper arms/shoulders, not my back. I’m assuming it’s because of a low setting.
What laser did you use?

It was the Altus ND:Yag. I don’t know what the settings were, but they were higher than my first treatment, where I saw good shedding on about 3/4 of the area that was treated (the other 1/4 area didn’t seem to shed at all).

I guess I’ll have a better idea in a week or so of if this was a “good thing” or a “bad thing”.

so, if there is nothing to tag on, you are seeing “pepperspots”, correct? dead hairs stuck in the follicles?

Hmm, yes. I think I was previously confused about exactly what pepperspots were. The hairs are coming out a lot more now.
